My father has a A6 3.0tdi, he recently had the EGR cleaned out as a fault appeared. This fault has now appeared again. He is wondering weather to replace the EGR (it has lasted 100k) or to map the EGR out.

Has anyone had their 3.0tdi EGR mapped out? If so any recommendations (South East)

Just had the same issue, cleaned once before but the issue came back, so replaced the EGR Valve and Cooler. All sorted now!

Agreed; they seem to last about that long generally. They're very strong cars overall so absolutely worth fixing.

Even if he was to sell it in the short/medium term it's a nice one to have an invoice for in the car's file.

Yes, and thanks for the advice previously Dr G, as above I replaced the complete EGR and Cooler. They are cheaper when purchased together too. Although I did go genuine, but have recently learned you can buy after markets parts for this cheaper.

Brilliant engine!
