New motor, new sub-forum - VW Alltrak

So having run the gamut of the PH subforums (Saab, Jap Chat and Porsche) I've wandered over into the Land of Dub.
The odd thing is that living in the USA, and needing to buy a car with plenty of room, you would think a typical yank tank would fit the bill. Off to the dealerships, look at V8s, dreams of Vanishing Point and Two Lane Blacktop in mind.
However, living in the North East with plenty of snow means RWD is sub-optimal for 1/4 of the year (especially if one apsires to a mountain house or ski weekends, which I do) and a few test drives showed most of the typical US fare had either a chassis made of jelly and a dumbwitted slush box, or cost $50k.
So I ended up buying the most Euro car ever in the Home of the Brave, a German wagon with AWD, a stick shift and a tiny 1.8T motor.
But I like it. Are there any other Alltrakkers on PH?
The sensible person in me says enjoy it as it is, the side of me that as tuned up every turbo car I've previously owned is already looking at how Golf R springs, wheels, turbo and backbox will fit....
