Revo Update for A4TDI.
Discussion
Good afternoon folks.
I have a 2011 Audi A4 2.0tdi Black Edition with the manual gearbox. The car is running the latest
engine softwear which I think is spoiling the car (even though the dealer thinks its all ok) so I am
considering having the stage one Revo engine re-map.
I am just wondering if anyone has had this done and do you recommend it/your thoughts.
Thanks.

I've had a few cars remapped in my time, and always found that they add a new lease of life to the car.
You have to bear in mind the extra strain it'll put on the drivetrain, and if you've done a few miles it could drastically reduce the life of your clutch.
Most mappers nowadays will aim to make them mechanically sympathetic to be fair, and I've never had an issue arise with any of my cars as a result of the map.
Revo are highly regarded, as are Shark Performance in VAG circles ... Really depends on where you're based.

.... I am biased in Worcester, so central to a few people who do mapping. My car is 170 BHP when standard, and I am not looking to go over the top.
I would hope a stage one Revo map would not stress the engine internals too much but would improve drive ability especially from low engine speeds.

I had a Revo Stage 1 rempa put on my Vrs after Skoda did the emissions fix, which I didn't like (seemed to give a weird flaring of revs at 2k rpm).
I think it's the same engine as yours.
Whilst it's not a total transformation, I really appreciate the little extra oomph, and the acceleration feels more linear than before. I'm very happy with it, to the point it made me go fix all those other minor things I've been meaning to have done for years!
