Sounds like you are a bit broken.
You genuinely don't find the whole thread a joke?
Err, no. Either you find it entertaining, in which case pipe down and let the entertainment continue, or if you find it alarming in which case just go elsewhere.

Why has everything got to be bullst on this site? Is it something i'm missing?
Don't feed the troll and he will go away punch

It's odd as it appears petrol heads are assuming that engine breaking retards a car at a faster rate than emergency stop.
Was the typo deliberate?

You really don't understand that a downshift would have applied extra torque to the engine at that moment and could have caused a failure. No coincidence needed.

And once in gear and the clutch is released and the throttle is engaged, what happens smart arse?

No it wouldn't. The engine wasn't underload was it - you changed down (I doubt you blipped the throttle for he downshift did you).

Just because an engine is spinning at x revs means nothing it might be making zero bhp as the fuel is cut off and the throttle is closed so no air or fuel getting in simply kinetic energy of the cars forward motion making those revs.
Christ, the more I read this the more I realise you actually haven't got a clue what you are talking about.

The torque isn't from the engine it's from the kinetic energy of the cars forward motion. The motor was making zero or effectively zero power as it was a downshift.

Look at any you tube vids of rolling road you see the revs rise and the power go up right to the cut out then they take foot totally off the throttle and let it coast down to a stop. Watch what the power and torque curve do on that not under load engine rpm power vs the exact same rpm under full load.
But the fuel isn't cut off and there is air

For an engine to run it requires fuel, honest

How many miles does this engine have to be run in on?
Did they reset the odometer to reflect its a new engine?
Are you permitted to do more miles now than the original contract stated
Can you use full power off he bat or will you lose out on using the power for a few thousand miles?

OP any chance of a pic of he invoice - with personal info hidden to mitigate those who have called you out in custard? Else it's just some story posted online could be a joke could be a troll could be the truth.
I was given no info on taking it easy on the new engine.

The odometer reads the same, as that's what's the rest of the car has done. I have no issue with posting the invoice with my details hidden.
