It's definitely part of the expected spec. The sales guys have confirmed.

Also, does anyone know how to manual control the suspension. I watched loads of videos whilst waiting for the car showing that there are about 40 settings for th suspension, but I can't find out how. I just have the driving mode button and select sport but I'm not sure that I notice a difference at all.
Unlike the rear air-con controls, you only get that on the 4-motion models, or as an option. If you've got a bog standard 190 R-line (like me) I don't think you get it.

Anyone else enjoying the headlights? The light assist function seems to work really well.

And the optional rear heated seat controls which are clearly different.

The fob-off email I’ve had from Volkswagen:

“I can confirm the images used in the brochure and price list are for marketing purposes only, these images may not be a UK specification vehicle.

For this reason, we would suggest to use the images as a guide. However, due to the confusion in the price list and brochure, our Marketing Team will be amending these to make them more clear.

I hope this information proves useful and thank you for contacting Volkswagen UK.”

Just checked mine and it has this in the back.
What spec is your car? Did you order heated rear seats?

My Arteon broke down on Tuesday, lost power and showed an EPC fault. The mobile VW technician found an ECU fault, where my local dealership has confirmed. No spare parts in the UK, waiting for one to be sent from Germany.

Even later to the Arteon party but I've just ordered a lease on pretty much this exact car (R Line, Urano Grey although admittedly the 2.0 TSi) and I'm struggling to find pictures of that colour/wheels combo - this may be the only one. So feel free to post more and/or opinions now you've been driving it a while.......
Some of mine on the previous page. Here’s another, this time in sunlight:

Can anyone confirm if the standard spec as Auto Boot?
No, it doesn’t, it needs quite a slam to shut it too.

So is this car suffering from Phaeton syndrome or is it something else? The residuals seem pretty bad.
The grey car for sale on eBay is accident repaired. The next cheapest car for sale on autotrader is £24k.

The early press releases for these, in metallic yellow, looked awesome but I don't think I've seen an Arteon on the road yet. Or maybe I have, but didn't recognize it. Being so anonymous I think they'd make a great get away car.
Same here, i've ordered that colour but yet to have seen a single one let alone in that colour!
I’ve only seen one in that colour, it looked great, wish I’d not been so stingy in having Urano Grey.

Last week my 14 month old Arteon displayed a message saying it was due a service in 1300 miles (mileage was just over 17,000). Got a price of £251 from a dealership near my office, but after ringing around a dealer near my house quoted £195 inc VAT, which I’ve gone for. The car will be going back before another service is due, so my total maintenance costs should be limited to that £195, which I think is pretty reasonable for 2 years, and an estimated 35,000 miles.

Has anyone tried “Eco” mode on their Arteon yet? I’ve had my car for over a year, but only tried it for the first time last month. I was expecting something similar to the terrible eco mode on my previous car, a BMW 320d, but I was pleasantly surprised, and now use it on my commute each day. It seems to coast more readily, and I think changes up a little earlier, but no major downsides. Fuel economy seems 3-4 MPG than before.

Parked next to another Urano Grey car at my local dealer yesterday:

Are those two cars really the same colour? The 68’ plate looks metallic?
Yes, it was definitely the same, but the 68 car was quite dusty compared to mine. It’s a strange colour for looking quite different in light and shade, or clean and dirty.

How do you select "Eco" mode? smile

Sorry if it's a stupid question, but I've never noticed this.
There’s a button labeled ‘mode’ to the top left of the gear selector (on a DSG car), when you press it you get a choice of 4 modes on the touchscreen. When you select Eco, on the gear indicator in the centre of the rev counter, the current gear is prefixed with an E.

It seems to need to be reselected each time you start the car; although the top left on the touchscreen will say continue to say ‘Eco’ after you’ve turned the engine off and on, you seem to have to choose it again on the menu to trigger the extended coasting function.

Had the car serviced this morning, with 18800 miles on the clock - the service indicator hit zero last night, so timed it well. Although I was quoted £195, which I thought was quite reasonable, in the end they only charged £185.

I'm in month 15 of a 24 month lease, so it won't need another service before it goes back.

Must admit they do look completely different.
Are you sure its not that metallic grey option that someone chose earlier in the thread
I'm certain it's Urano, I was at the same dealer this morning and saw the same car. I know what you're saying though, the front wheel arch in particular looks very different.

This is good to hear, and what a great price for a dealer service! Where was the dealer?

Not too far from Coventry, I’ll have to remember that when it’s time, if I don’t get decent prices from more local dealers. Mind you, as I’m still waiting for a build date I don’t think I need to worry about the servicing any time soon!
I had a quote from VW in Nuneaton, they wanted £251, so it's definitely worth shopping around

On the first page of this thread I posted a lot of Arteon information such as road tests - I've now updated that post with a few new reviews, might be useful to anyone considering ordering one soon.
