Have to say that looks lovely and thanks for posting - the darker coloured wheels are different and provide a nice contrast. I have managed to avoid diamond cut wheels on the last few cars!

My 2.0tsi R Line Arteon is ready for collection at th end of march cannot wait.

I thought the deal was quite good direct with Newcastle VW 6+23 15k miles 281 Inc vat.

Depends on your driving, my long term average (although only 4K miles) is 36mpg. 40’s is achievable on a long run but I can’t see you averaging that day in day out.

With my 280, I'll can only get above 40mpg on a motorway run, low 30's around town

I've experience of the 1.5 mpg figures but only in a Golf, I'd think that the weight difference of an Arty over a Golf would play a big factor, on average I think you'd be looking at mid/high 30's at best

My long term average in a 1.5 DSG Arteon is 44mpg. That's 2 long journeys a week (+200 miles each leg) @ 75mph and only a few shorter trips in the week.

Depends on your driving style etc, but I think you'd struggle to break 40mpg in a 2.0 Arteon long-term.

Has anyone taken out a maintenance package with their Arteon?

I've been offered the following, so currently doing some research to see if either are worth while.

1. Service and Maintenance £12.84 per month
2. Service, Maintenance and Tyres £33.20

This if for an R-Line 2.0 TSI on a 15k miles per year on a 2 year lease.

Cheers

I've had a single service on my Arton (2.0 TSi DSG), this came up at 19,000 miles and cost £195. (Car was set on long life servicing, make sure yours is)

If you are doing 15,000 a year, you should only need one service.

For tyres, I've has to replace the fronts, 19" P-Zeros were £112 each including fitting through Oponeo.

Perfect thank you, that's my mind made up. I'll leave it then.

I have now spotted three Arteons on the road since Christmas - a yellow one between Northampton and Peterborough yesterday - very easy to spot in that colour! Still surprised how few there seem to be around - even mentioned them to a few car nut mates and they had not heard of them, although both asked if it was based on a Phaeton after seeing pics!

What are your impressions of quality of interior material and how it's all put together? Had a test drive in Audi A6 with salesman who worked for 10 years for VW and said Arteon is not as good as Audi, but to be honest, Audi is not that great.

Wouldn't mind reading more about 280 version as well. Looking at almost new ones or to lease one. Trying to find a car model that doesn't attract luxury road tax, which is tricky when considering big cars with good spec.

It’s well screwed together and a nice place to be but Audi still do it better. In all fairness VW have the edge on Skoda & Seat who definitely use more scratchy hard plastics.

I'm also considering Superb L&K, which you can't really leasy cheaply and it's a bit more expensive than Arteon to buy (better spec as well).
