Thinking of moving my 996 c4s on and getting into an RS4 avant B7.

One tiny niggle is the 996 has probably increased in value by at least 5K in the two years I've had it.

I could handle values being static on the RS but after such a good run with the pork I don't think I'm ready to stomach depreciation yet!

Where do you Audi beards see the B7 RS4 values going in the near future?

Sorry to ask such a boring typical porsche type question!

A really nice, standard, low-ownership and sensible miles B7 Avant (in a proper colour) will probably not go down much further.

They're not worth the ridiculous sums you see a few people asking (they simply don't sell). I sold two in the spring of this year, one black, and one grey Avant with 40k miles a piece and they were each £24k. These were as above, standard cars in really good fettle not needing money spent on them.

I can't see them ever attaining limited run Porsche-style prices and they were built in far greater numbers than RS2s and B5 RS4s ever were.

Really long term? Hard to say but I'm still sceptical as to whether it will ever become a better collectible than it is a car.

Sold my 997 Turbo after a good run up in price and bought a B7 RS4 Avant
Low mileage 36,000 miles and I don’t expect to lose any money on it.
Having driven 400 miles in it I am really impressed with the speed and Grip .
Would recommend one .

I think you'll find there are very few that were fitted with ceramics. I wouldn't hold out for them - find the best example regardless of which brakes are fitted.

For me there were far more important options like bucket seats and not having the ugly factory Bluetooth phone preparation. smile

Nope, they're a few generations old and I never liked the feel (particularly from cold). The standard brakes have a really nice pedal and discs are good for >~40k if treated with a modicum of respect.

Not actually too bad to remove (and I would never discount an otherwise good car for it). Centre console surround used to be ~£130 and takes 2-3 hours to swap. It's even DIYable as whilst it takes time it really is just undoing screws and clips. The bluetooth module works fine without the cradle.

I'm just very particular. wink

Points at non-sunroof, non-privacy glass, black optics pack with bucket seats and no Bluetooth. biggrin

RS2 values started going up around 2012, when these cars were around 16 years old. Similarly B5 RS4 values have only just started going up seriously around a year ago when most cars are around 16 years old. Before that the values of both were pretty flat (at the bottom of the depreciation curve) for a good couple of years.

So most B7's are around 10 years old now so I'd expect the B7 still has a little bit of depreciation still to go until it starts to climb again. Before values climb, there needs to be a shake out of the badly maintained dogs leaving mainly the good ones left. That said, a well maintained B7 is a great car and if you look after it probably wont loose too much more value in the grand scheme of things I'd have thought, but don't forget that the both the RS2 and B5 RS4 are both much, much rarer cars than the B7 ever was so I'd expect the values of the B7 to reflect this slightly.
I fully agree with this, if i remember both the Rs2 and the B5 Rs4 hovered around the 10k mark for quite a while, before the long predicted rise occurred.

But then the rise from 2010 has probably taken in most interesting older limited models, not sure if it's just RS2 and B5 RS4.

3.2's, 964, 993, Ford Focus RS, 205 GTI, 5 GT Turbo etc they've all seen massive increases.

Buy a nice clean B7 RS4 in a good colour with buckets and you won't go far wrong.

The reason the RS2 and now the B5 RS4 are rising in values is primarily due to the relatively very low production numbers of both models. I feet that the B7 RS4 would take an age to get to a similar status or value as the RS2/B5 RS4.

I would say that finding a good B7 RS4 avant in the right colour with buckets in the right condition will narrow numbers considerably.

I'd also expect more demand for the B7 RS4 overall.

It's not going to make a huge difference to values on having buckets or the right colour when production numbers are very high.

In terms of values i'd be buying a B5 with 50 - 60k miles.
They look a good investment at the moment.

I'm after a B5 with decent low mileage and they're very difficult to find now, I've been looking for a year or so now.

The advert says it didn't, I think the price is a little high, even though it does has very low mileage.
