For those who have not cancelled their order yet:

There is a meeting to decide a final outcome between Lex & Audi at the end of this month. It is possible that if Lex won't fund it that Audi will fund it through VWFS as they don't want 400+ cars on order without a home to go to
Really? How did you find this out?

How do they have 400+ orders?? They were never passed on by LEX who were the people ordering them, for them to be an official order "LEX" would have had to submit and order to Audi.. which they didn't. This is very unrealistic in the world of Audis processes, there's ZERO chance these cars would have been orders or in the "order book". They simply wouldn't start making a vehicle because a broker said so, they just a broker at the end of the day not the end customer who is LEX.

Sorry, but you are wrong.

Once the credit check has been passed Lex agree to fund the car, and the broker places the order with the Audi dealer. The broker will have a long list of Audi order numbers.

In this instance, after that happened, Lex pulled the funding -- but that doesn't change the fact that a dealer somewhere in the UK has an order on their books with my / your name on it smile

I’ve emailed VWFS direct. I would assume even if the deposits were returned the orders will be still floating around some where with Audi. I’m sceptical of what GBV have disclosed though

Anyone had those credit searches removed yet? I still have a hard search showing up from Lex which I want off my record asap.

Lex have sent the 4 series deals out to a number of brokers, but it's not specifically for the failed A6 order customers. My broker said he's not even advertising them as they are so poor.

The more I think about this debacle, the more inept Lex look. Almost 500 orders, and an eagerness to settle complaints with a cheque.

I doubt this deal will ever be honoured. I know CVL cancelled their orders through the Audi dealer they ordered with. There's no way the cars even began to be built.

Hope you all sort something out and find yourself a decent car.

From what I'm hearing we are going to have to call this the A6/XF thread! Surely LEX can't have made not only the same mistake but within weeks of the A6 fiasco.

I would've thought that Lex place the order with Audi, not the broker. If Lex haven't process them through their own system and countersigned the orders then it might not generate an order to Audi. I could be completely wrong though...

Either way to make the same error within weeks is shocking! Something didn't feel right about it when it first came up which is why I decided not to pursue.

The orders are made by the brokers and cancelled as per Lex's instructions, well this was the case for me anyway, as confirmed by the broker. My point again, if Lex carry on doing this, no confidence in finding a cracking deal, the 'what if..' will always dangle up there if they're financing.

In order not to dilute the main lease thread, or to mention my peasant-wagon on the S4 & S6 thread, I thought I'd post on here that I've just phoned up VWFS to ask them to send me a VE103 document and to ask them about reducing the mileage of the contract.

So if anyone's interested I got quoted (inc VAT) a tenner less per month for the remainder of my contract for reducing the whole mileage from 20,000 to 15,000. There's also a £60 admin fee so I'm not going to bother with amending the contract. i overestimated quite a lot as the car's only on 7,200 after 13 months and as I treat it as if it were my own car, it'll make a very good buy for someone next year!

The car is an A6 sal 2.0 TDI S-tronic black edition quattro.(see page three).

I took my A6 lease on knowing I was highly likely to go over the agreed miles (plan to put money aside on the months that I do) - I wonder if i increased mine by 5000 a year, they would only ADD similar!

Good point, and no probably not that little!
Let us know what they do end up charging.
I hope to do a Madrid return before I give it back, so that'll add 2,200 miles at least :-)
Hope you're enjoying the car.

Well the time has come to dispose of the A6. I've found an Avant to replace it with that I have bought used, so I am out of the leasing game after just one go! The A6 has been a great car and I well overestimated the mileage I would do in the car during the two years (now 21 months), so VWFS are getting back the car having done c 12,000 out of 20,000 miles.

Having taken the car down to Nuremberg at five days old and to Maastricht earlier this year, it has been completely reliable over the term - the main downside being asked for Adblue more often than I'd like; mainly during times of very few motorway journeys.

Will update the "VWFS at end of lease" thread when the car's been inspected and collected. Am waiting for BCA to contact me to arrange a date once VWFS have passed them my details. Current lead time is one week, apparently.

are there any benefits of having done nearly half the miles? do you get any money back as the residual value is more, or is it just "tough"

You can call VWFS during the contract and request re-price for lower miles. At the end of the contract it doesn't matter if miles are lower, no refund.

That kinda sucks, I've often thought about a lease but things like this put me off
