Yeh it's just a case of tough luck unfortunately. See above where I wrote about having called VWFS to adjust the mileage, but with the admin fee on top it made their token quote even more pointless.

It's of course only my own fault. I wrongly assumed a bigger, better car would mean more longer trips but it doesn't happen! Looking at the MOT history of my previous car, an A1, I never did more than 7,500 miles a year, in the seven years I had that.

Why does it suck? Most companies don't allow re-price at all, so VWFS is not bad. I read in main leasing thread that Arnold Clark is refunding unused miles at excess mile cost.

Leasing is inflexible as a product, so you have to calculate what mileage is right for you. It's the same with PCP. If you're unhappy about it, then just buy cars.

My first lease was for 20K miles per annum. By the time car was delivered, I changed the job and never needed the mileage. In the end I did 36K pleasure miles, but after that decided it's better to pay excess miles than pay upfront for too many miles.
