Are you sure mate?
I really need to know as I bought a used vehicle and it's got major engine problems and my warranty has been voided due to a map being found

We would not check or search for a map on a used car.
The ECU would be scanned for fault codes amongst the usual used car PDi checks, that's it.

Where did you buy it from and how long ago?
How long is the warranty for?
Main dealer?
Who is the warranty with?
What has happened to the engine?

40 grand! Behave. What is it?

They generally don't check for sales but them checking following a warranty claim seems much more prevalent recently.

I wouldn't buy a VAG group car in warranty without proof it wasn't remapped (visibility of td1 flag etc)

RS6 by the look of it. Had a remap and hoping Audi don't spot it. Good luck with that on a 40k warranty claim.

in fairness a lot of people remap there cars, and he choose one of the reputable companies so I don't think he has been stupid. The issue is remaps are always a gamble and unfortunately the op lost, thousands have not had an issue.

If it was me I would look at breakers etc and get it replaced yourself and sell it on.

I was commenting on his two threads. Put together they make for an interesting read. First is wow! Second, oh st, how do I pull the wool over Audi’s eyes? All on a public forum.
Not clever.
