Thanks for this - will be useful to scare the Mrs into looking after her leased Golf a bit more carefully than she currently does.

Can anyone shed a little light on how the vehicles are collected? Does someone pick it up on a truck?

For mine a driver from BCA turned up, did a check, put some ‘trade plates’ in the rear & front windows, then drove off...

Driver usually shows up together with guy checking the car or later. I also dropped off one car at Audi dealership, where it was collected by BCA. Car was checked 3 days earlier at my home and got confirmation of no damage.

I have some newb questions too! Will the car be collected on the exact anniversary of delivery? How hard is it to arrange a replacement lease deal to coincide?

Just extend your current lease.

Some information on timelines on getting a bill post hand back. I had my Audi A4 collected middle of July, no damage from inspection and only excess miles noted.

Only got the bill from VWFS for this yesterday, so nearly 3 months to get the bill (nearly thought I'd got away with it!)

it can be prohibitively expensive to do that.

It can also be nice and cheap, wife has extended her scirocco lease for £202 a month for another year and 10000 miles. Current lease doesn't end til february but her extension is already sorted.

yes it can, but because it also can be very expensive, it isn't something you can just casually plan to do, and rely upon it being cheap enough to get you out of a problematic situation with the next car arrival.

VWFS allow for informal extension of 3 months at current rate so not too bad

All of their charges are less than the cost of having the work done (even at trade) so I really wouldn't worry about it.

Obviously best case is "don't damage it" but if VW is prepared to let you do 3k of damage to a car and only charge 500 quid...

Cheers, so they do another inspection and then drive it off. Getting mine collected in two days and wondered what the process was.
Had the windscreen done since the inspection so I need to notify them of that.

I have just under a year left on my Cupra lease and I'm going to be replacing the front tyres in a month or two. The rear tyres should be good for another year so if I stick PS4s on the front are they going to be bothered about the rears and fronts being different brands when the car goes back?

not unless it says so in the contract, which I am fairly sure it won't... you need to check though. Sometimes they make a differentiation of 'premium' tyre brands only.

What was the issue with your windscreen and did you claim on windscreen cover to replace it ?
