VWFS - attitude at end of lease?
Discussion
I was fearing something similar with my Leon.
The front radar stopped working one day (no impact/damage etc) at about 4 months old, I took it to SEAT and they said I'd need to pay for recalibration... Not a chance of that happening on a car that is not mine and was under warranty. I left it for the 2 years broken.
I explained this to the BCA guy and thankfully he said not to worry about it, was expecting something from VWFS but nothing ever came of it.
I've seen the car is now up for sale and it's all been sorted.
I would have expected the same to happen with the Skoda, it's a bit ridiculous that it's clearly a warranty issue and yet they're chasing you for the repair costs! :/

Skoda Superb on 3 year lease. Went back 11/1/18. Satnav stopped working about 1 month before (everything else on the unit worked it just stopped satnavving - no visible damage. I just assumed it needed the software reloading) . Inspection was to be done on 28/12 but they cancelled and said to leave it at the dealership when I collected the replacement. Big mistake. They then left the car at the dealers for about 3 months before it was collected.
So the Satnav stopped working under warranty and they have charged me £2900 for a new one. Needless to say I have refused to pay.
The car is great but my experience of VWFS has been less so.
With hindsight I would have got the car fixed before returning it but it was over Christmas and New Year and I thought a reasonable person would accept that it was a warranty matter.
ouch. That is a lesson learned for all leasers maybe!! What happens if anything breaks just before collection?! Would have thought there would be a common sense clause in there when it comes to outstanding repairs and so on... most main dealers would have a lead time for bookings at least and parts like that are often back ordered...So the Satnav stopped working under warranty and they have charged me £2900 for a new one. In lockhart flawse's case they didn't know it was faulty and didn't find out until after the warranty had expired.Sheepshanks said:

Can’t seem to find the info on how many mm of tread VWFS require left on the tyres. Recon I’ll be down to 3mm when it goes back next month. A set of new tyres wound rather upset my figures somewhat!
i could be wrong here but i would have thought that unless they specify a different depth then above the legal minimum is usually the requirement? MxxC said:
Does anyone have a copy of the fair wear and tear guidelines and charges? I’ve tried googling but can’t find it. The link earlier in this thread doesn’t work either now.
Pretty sure these are the same as my SEAT ones were....Edited by MxxC on Wednesday 8th January 20:24

MOT passable with no Damage and no uneven wear due to over or under inflation.Scirocco is going back in a couple weeks, with inspection booked for end of Jan.
Rear tyres are fine, but front are approx 2.0 mm in the middle of tyre. What action should I take? Should I chance it? I am imagining they will be 1.6 mm at the time. Or should I save any hassle and replace with a cheap replacement prior to inspection?
Thanks

If 2mm in middle, what are the edges? They might have you for uneven wear due to over inflation.
