Configurator says Audi Beam - Uses LED's to project the Audi logo onto the ground as you exit your car.

LED Audi rings for entry area, for vehicles with LED entry lights (1 Piece ) - The entry LED projects the Audi rings onto the ground when you open the front doors. This feature not only provides additional light when getting into the car but also creates an individual sporty look. The entry LED is a further development of the standard entry lights.
Items supplied: Set of 2.

I asked broker and Audi Webchat but still no answer.

Why would you want such a tacky feature anyway?

Educated guess:

S3s come with the ring projectors as standard.

A 'retro kit' of the swap-in projectors (one for each side) is also available from Audi.

I believe the former refers to the standard fitted lights and the latter the retro kit.

I have had a look for you and there is no difference. Where are you getting these two options from? I have a look at the S3 brouchre and it ONLY shows Audi Beam which IS the LED projections so why are you seperating them?

Its the same thing. Some new Audis (depending on spec) have an LED entry light on the bottom of the doors. If you have this, you can pay for or get as standard (depending on model) the Audi Rings or quattro "beam"'d onto the floor rather than a basic LED light.

You can get the parts on Ebay to swap out if you have the LED light at the bottom of the door.

Looks really naff and tacky if you ask me. no one will see it.

I have this on my leased S4 (standard kit). It's a novelty at first but soon looks very chav.

Thanks guys. It is a dealer fit which I will cancel now that the majority thinks it’s chavvy

Its standard on my S5 and my wifes Q5, 67 and 18 plates . I actually like them - its super bright and very clear projection of the 4 ring logo. Not chavvy in my book. The cars have masses of lights internally and externally and these add to the overall premium look.

If they were fitted to an old more chavvy car then I'd agree with comments above but when its on a new car with all the other lighting you expect from a premium car, then it looks the part.
