Paint is awful on all new Audi cars. The orange peel effect is laughable. Even the salesman agreed. We had a look at a few different ones and it’s terrible. If it wasn’t a lease I’d be more bothered...
Most modern VAG paint is awful these days. Orange peel is worse on some than others but the actually hardness isn't too good. Lots and lots of people are getting them ceramic coated to help stop swirly from even the lightest of washes. Love the colour and surprisingly am really keen on the standard wheels!

Picked mine up today. Very enjoyable drive. Feels much faster and interesting than my golf r manual is.

Very nice - those standard wheels have really grown on me. Agree its a much more interesting proposition that the Golf R. Engine noise being the main thing thats different! My paint wasnt too bad on my nav blue or daytona grey even before a new car detail. Paint is awful on all new Audi cars. The orange peel effect is laughable. Even the salesman agreed. My lease S4 came like this.....luckily the supplying dealer has agreed to pay for a detailer to fix it. It also has the orange peel. Would be seriously pissed off if I'd just paid £46K for it.

Mine was waiting for me this morning at work. Driver set off from Carlisle at 2am and delivered it to Chichester with 400 miles on the clock! Dropped it off with Tim at Envy Car Care for a ceramic coating, can't wait to get it back.
Is that Misano red? Looks smartEdited by SuperNads on Thursday 2nd August 17:52
Damn I think that is well worth it for the upgraded alloys, wish we would have gone for them.
The missus drove the S4 for the first time last week to the local multi story and kerbed the rear wheel heavily. The wheel sits so proud of the tyre it was always going to happen. They will all be destroyed by the time we hand it back in two years!

Big fan of the rotor grey interior. The massaging seats are...interesting!
Glad you like the rotor grey. I took a risk and went the same way as the broker only gave me 5 mins to make a decision! Couldn’t find many pics online and they all photograph so differently depending on the light, so was worried if made a faux pas. Mine comes Mon 20th, boggo black. Same here. It should be such a simple thing to sign off on a premium car.
Then again, I'm too irritated by the needlessly complicated user interface on MMI to worry about the seatbelt buckle.
Otherwise it's an absolutely stonking car. Reminds me of my youth in hot hatches but much more grown up.

Took me a day to realise how to get to the menu about the car - key etc... Then again, I'm too irritated by the needlessly complicated user interface on MMI to worry about the seatbelt buckle.

Still not worked how to turn down brightness of virtual cockpit at night.
Loving the car though.

Ai actually like the standard 19s on the S4 as they are unique to the S4 unlike some of the optional ones that you can also spec on a 2.0ltr diesel.
Yeah I wouldnt be upgrading if I was getting one. Paint yes (I have a BB S5 at the moment and I regret not getting a better colour, always dirty), wheels no.Gassing Station | Audi, Seat, Skoda & VW | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
