Whilst mine is not due back for 6 months, just curious if anyone has tried to extend the lease on there S4? Gonna be a hard one to beat this as been a great value car

My renewal price for a 12 month extension was £567. A full £200 more per month. I'll try a few more times over the next few months to see if it comes down. Tempted to buy/finance one that's a few years old, the values aren't holding up too well. There are a lot of 2017/18 cars on Autotrader with no options, clearly ex lease cars.

I had my house broken into on Friday for my car keys and then my car was subsequently taken off the drive. Picking up my Toyota Aygo courtesy car later.

Be careful folks.

Just got an extension quote from £256 per month to £651 a month. I think they want their S4 back :-)

Anyone asked how much to but outright? I would but the Audi finance service is soooooo bad I dont have the energy

BCA or VWFS gave me a price to buy mine - £25,500ish. Car was an 18 plate with 32,000 miles on, I thought that seemed very reasonable. I half considered it, but it's gone through 2 thermostats in the last year which put me off with only a year of warranty left.

Now, what to replace it with!?

I enquired about buying mine in April, they only wanted £23750 for an 18 plate with 11000.

I brought my 67 plate S4 lease from VW via BCA during lockdown in May for £19400 it had 32k miles on it. Seemed a no brainer for that price. Managed to negotiate it down to approx 92% of CAP (current auction price)

That’s good, my insurance paid out £27k for a 68 plate with 25,000 on the clock

Ahh, the VWFS random quote machine strikes again! Not sure on your timescales but if you can wait 30 days get another quote and it will likely be different. When extending my S5 I requested quotes with just under 6 months to go and had the price go up £20, then it went over £1,000 for two quotes, then back down to £10 more expensive, then dropped around £50. I have no idea what they base the pricing on - how they are feeling that day i think.

I was given a buy price of £23,400 it was an S5 coupe just under 3 years old with £4k options and 19k on the clock. You can negotiate on the buy prices too.

I ended up extending the lease - and VW agreed to keep the monthlies to £256 a month. This period is now nearly up so what to do

It seems good new leases are non existance, so may go back to purchasing

Car has 20k on clock, standard S4 spec on a 68 plate - BCA want £24.7k to purchase out right, which is more than wanted to pay, but maybe thats the market value?

I think that’s a fair price. I’ve just bought one for £26,800. Reasonable spec, 25k miles 18 plate. BCA price would mirror WBAC price maybe?

Sounds like a decent deal. Keep you going until some better lease offers are around.

I ended up buying a 67 plate S4, 15k miles, with lots of options. Big difference to having no options on the lease I had. Can see me keeping this car for a while.

Considering doing the same, didn't realise how much I'd miss mine. Wouldn't mind an S5 but they seem to be holding their value a little better.

HI mate was this a second informal extension you got? I always thought they only allow that once.

Interesting - what options do you think are useful to get? Mine is the stock S4 & I dont seem to miss much ?

It's just nice to have 6k worth of options that I didn't have to pay for.😉 Things I like in this car are the matrix lights and the Adaptive suspension, nice to haves are the VC, sunroof, dipping mirrors, reverse camera. The ride on the comfort setting is nicer than the passive setup I had on the lease.
