Anyone own an S7 - looking to move from a bitdi
Discussion
HI All,
I have had an A7 320 Bitdi for around 6 months and I think its brilliant for my needs. It suits me well, like the GT nature of the car and handles well enough even if it does feel a little big when throwing it around.
I am hankering after a bit more power and maybe better handling somewhat so this takes me into looking at the S7.
has anyone owned one or even made the move I am looking to make and if it was worth it.
Specifically looking at a 2014+ (facelift model)
Thanks

In a lot of ways a comparable car but subtly better all round for the gentleman that doesn't mind the fuel economy (although for a fast car economy is fine, 25 is easy peasy and 30MPG on a run not hard).
Air suspension (standard on S7) really suits an A7.
That engine is a honey.
S*** me do they launch hard. I mean 'woooooooah my lunch is coming back' hard. S-Tronic + turbos = LOLz.
They're not even particularly expensive for the amount of car/performance you're getting.

I agree. S8 look better VFM but I like the S7 shape.
Lease deal (2 years hence) cars filtering through but most are standard spec. Would prefer privacy glass and 21" alloys.
I'm in touch with a couple of dealers, mainly S8s as S7s seem thin on the ground.
Privacy glass and alloys are very easy to add to any car, I certainly wouldn't let their absence put me off any car.Lease deal (2 years hence) cars filtering through but most are standard spec. Would prefer privacy glass and 21" alloys.

I have a 2012 S7. It’s a good car, great interior and toys, big step up in that department from my old C6 RS6. It’s quick as standard but not fast, but not sure how to quantify that. Mine’s been stage 2 mapped by MRC now and it’s quite a bit quicker, from memory around 525bhp and 800nm.
It grips very well and is very effective point to point, and can be provoked into break away oversteer quite easily which can be fun depending on your perspective.
For comfort I think the ride is fantastic but when in dynamic/sport it’s quite a disconnected experience. You know you’re getting down a b or a road very effectively but it’s not all that much fun due to the disconnected feeling.
The car is what it is right, it’s not an RS7 but it is an accomplished vehicle all round, and pretty practical too with the back seats down, and good value used.
