VW up! GTi - anyone know of any upcoming finance deals?
Discussion
Hallo all,
I've been looking closely at the up! GTi and following the several features on PH with interest, they seem like a great runaround/first car for the OH/fun little thing to throw around at the weekend.
The issue is, having built one on the VW configurator, the (approx.£15,000) price tag isn't easily broken down to under about £220 pcm, on PCP finance.
I need VW to slash that APR or add a contribution to our deposit to 'sell' the idea to my girlfriend, thereby loading her with half the costs, meaning my motoring becomes a whole lot cheaper ;D.
Anyone aware of PCP deals and deposit contributions etc. on NEW up! GTi? Will there likely be a new round of such offers in the spring of 2019?
Thanks in advance.

VW won't drop the finance APR on their "Solutions" product whilst demand is strong and the price was so low to start with.
The rest of the UP! range was on 4.8% and they only gave 6.3% on the GTi.
The rest of the range attracted a dealer contribution of £500+, but that went rapidly down to zip on the UP GTi.
They put up the base prices of the GTi and STILL the waiting list is 6 months plus.
It's pure capitalism, with high demand you don't need to bow to customers, you can make maximum profit.
For what it's worth, the UP GTi is STILL an incredibly underpriced car, so don't fret the finance APR or monthly. I've had mine 1000 miles now and it is so well put together, it has heated seats, stitched leather steering wheel, lovely LED mood lights, it feels like a Golf............ and real poke,
Twelve month waiting list is long gone. Cars are turning up in a fraction of that, with dealers regularly popping up in the owner's groups with stock vehicles for sale.
Plenty of people still waiting for orders placed months ago, while new buyers seemingly jump the queue!

Indeed, most dealers seem to be quoting 16 weeks at the moment, but there is certainly no finance incentive at the moment and dealers are IME hopeless at predicting when VWFS will offer any support.Discounts are still reasonably good with a factory order base cars available for £13k.
The dealer stock cars thing is a contentious issue. I've repeatedly seen my dealer offering cars for sale, despite the fact that when I pick my up next Wednesday it will be 38 weeks since I ordered it. Dealer orders were supposed to be converted to customer orders to speed up cars getting to people who had actually ordered them, rather than help dealers put cars on the forecourt with silly asking prices.
