Took delivery of mine this morning following lease deals posted recently. Very pleased with the car but when I had played around on the configuration site it inferred privacy glass was standard on the s line models and also the front and rear lights had the new 'light show' (I am sure this probably has a name). Mine doesn't have the privacy glass and does not appear to have the light show below. Am I perhaps being stupid and it only comes as an optional extra?

It's possible that configurator is showing MY2020 model and your's is previous model year that didn't include these options as standard. You can check easily when you car was manufactured using VIN number. https://carinfo.kiev.ua/cars/vin/audi

I think the light show is only available on models with the OLed headlamps which is a upgrade

Thanks for prompt replies, when I backed car into the garage there it just worked, so it must be a day/night sensor and linked to the light system of the car. The windows not being tinted is weird as I have confirmed, (thanks for link) that it is the 2019 model.

If you are sure that you're in the right then I would take it up with the dealer, they can retro fit a tint to the windows or else make some sort of gesture.

A bit like the Peugeot 508 rear lights.

If it's any consolation I specified the tints (against my better judgement) and really wish I'd not had them. The tinted windows spoil the lines of the car, (IMO) look a bit tacky, and impede rear/peripheral vision at night.

Hi guys, just picked mine up today too.
I have a weird question. So I had some rear passengers in the back, and the car started beeping like as if the front seatbelts weren’t fastened. Double check mine and front passengers, all plugged in but car still beeping like crazy.

Ask the people in the back to buckle in and then the car stops. So now my rear passengers HAVE to buckle up or the car won’t stop screaming. Is that normal and the same for everyone? I have never heard of anything like this, my 2017 S5 just used to beep once when the seatbelt was plugged in at the back.
This one is flashing in red and beeping until everyone is buckled in.

Anyone else have the same?

It's a good thing, isn't it? Audi stepped up safety features.

But is it now a standard feature in all new Audi’s or is it just a fault?
What if there’s a box or something heavy on the rear seats

Mine beeps if someone’s not got their belt on in the back. I’ve plugged in the middle one as the kids keep fighting in the back and when one of them puts any weight on the middle section I get the warning bong.

I'd prefer people in the back to be buckled up. They get ejected forward into you at some speed if you had an accident.

There seems to be no rhyme nor reason when the light display works as sometimes does it when bright outside sometimes doesnt.

Spoiler seems to have a mind of its own as well.

Privacy glass doesnt appear black but when looking at certain angles, there is definitely a form of tint on it.

Overall delighted with the car so far, bar a niggly rattle under dash. Beautiful smooth ride.

My A6 is the most squeaky / rattlely car I’ve ever owner! It’s very irritating!

Don't worry, A8 is not better. Tomorrow having another battle with dealer revarding fixing rattle in both doors. Third attempt.

I've only ever seen the lights work when its dark out.
I could've sworn I heard some plastic slide across the inside of the dash when I took a sharp left turn today too lol
It is very nice, I've sussed out the spoiler - if you manually put it up and go on the motorway when you slow from 70/80 it will drop back down, also if you manually put it up and park the car it stays up until you next start it up and drive off, it seems to drop - so look for the red line on top of the spoiler icon, if its there its up lol. Although it does take a fair few seconds to light up

I've ordered a DTUK box for mine, should be arriving tomorrow

I'm coming from a S5 like most people here so the delay and gradual build up from standstill is getting a bit tedious. Although I am loving the mpg

Good to see mate! I too came from the S5 and it is a pain. Is the DTUK box worth it? Might consider it given I have the car for three years.

My latest gripe is the internal overhead lights coming on when I shut off the engine and open the door, darkness regardless of time of day and whatever I play with. Anyone any ideas?

Hi! Sorry been busy lately and only just thought I'd check up on this thread.

You need to get the box! It's a big difference between standard and the added horses are much needed in this car. It's actually quite pleasant to drive now and not as sluggish as before. I don't have the quattro sadly and if you're really aggressive you can spin the wheels up in first and second. Once its moving it can keep going pretty strongly.
I've done circa 3000 miles since fitting it and fitted it after 600 miles so all good so far, no lights or issues.

Fitting was pretty quick, took about 10 minutes to do.

Any other questions, just ask!
