VW Polo 2004 running issues

Hi

Can anyone help, My sons car starts fine but as soon as you touch the accelerator the engine dies. Do you think its a fuel issue maybe?

What engine? Any fault codes?

HI,

Its a 1.2L petrol engine. The engine management light is on but it a water temperature sensor issue.

It basically starts and as soon as you rev the car it dies.
