Long term lurker. Bear with me please.

Reading this thread with interest. Currently lease an A4 1.4 S Line 18 plate. It’s going back in March. Been an Audi owner for years. On my 2nd A4. Had 6 A3’s from sport to BE. Was looking at moving away from Audi for the first time in donkeys years as I can’t see any good deals.

I’ve rung affinity but they won’t deal with me as my organisation is public sector and I don’t know anyone who deals with them. I hate asking this but is anyone able to help me with some sort of code or name of the company they work for so affinity can offer prices.

Sorry for sounding a bit thick normally I lease via a broker or dealer but nothing remotely cheap on the horizon right now.

Thanks guys and love the pics of people’s new cars look lovely just hope I can get one as I love my Audi!

Anyone that’s received their cars, what is the interior like at night?

Random question, but does it have the blue ambient lighting around the cupholders/ on the doors?

Yeah it does have the white led light on the cup holders and interior door not blue I don't have tech pack in that I think you can change color, also door handles and sline trim on door entry light up.

Ahhhhh ok, I wondered if you needed the tech pack for that. Thanks

Just got mine and driven it home (it’s got wet which I’m gutted about!).

Auto headlights are a game changer; so so good. Cabin lighting is nice, if a bit bright before you workout how to dim them a bit. Haven’t got the tech pack but fully digital dash on it which is pretty damn good.

Too early to report mpg, didn’t actually look in my 10 mile drove home but also came with half a tank of fuel which was more than I expected.

The configurator did suggest ‘electric seats’, but thats in all ways apart from the main back and forth. Wife’s 4 series has memory seats so moves to the right place by key so this feels slightly backwards.

40tfsi engine feels to have decent enough pull but happy I’m not in the 35 as against a 430d it still feels a bit slower.

Overall though, really really like it, especially for the price.

I like the look of that A4 Allroad deal on Affinity. Would anybody be willing to PM me a code? My Golf R goes back in May, looks like that might fit the bill as a replacement. Thanks

I too would also really appreciate a code.

Parting company with my 2012 S3 for a more suitable family waggon, the A4 Avant 35 TFSi Black Edition.

Bit of stupied question but how do you use the stronic on it as I'm a bit confused?

I've got the basics sorted two pushes up of the stick for reverse and two pushes down for D, if I use the paddles it seems to overide the auto then goes back into auto if paddles not used agaim. What about the S icon next to the D what does that do, if I pull stick down 3 times does that just put it into sport auto mode? I also noticed you seem to be able to push the stick to the left as well what does that do ? Finally the button on side of stick what does that do? I had been pushing it when I was going into drive or reverse but I noticed I don't seem to need to push it to do this so wondered what it does.

Cheers

Can’t answer all your questions as my car hasn’t arrived yet but usually if you push the lever to the left then use the paddles it’ll stay in manual and not go back into auto. Otherwise it’ll revert to auto after a few seconds.

Cheers yeah your right there - I found a vid on youtube that explains it well and it looks like the same gear stick etc as in the A4, the vid comes up if you search youtube for "Audi Q7 how to operate gear shift", it does a quick 3min walk through on how to use it etc

The S just holds gears longer its meant to be Sport I think so you can accelerate quicker. It's engaged by pulling the leaver back twice until the D changes to and S. If you knock the leaver over the left it'll go into M which is manual and you have to change hears with the paddles.

There are two buttons on the side one is P for park the other is to change between gears to the best of my knowledge. Hope this helps I'm just learning as I go myself.

I'm not sure if it's the weather or my heavy right foot but I do find front end grip very poor so far. Anything other than very light acceleration has the TC light blinking as the car scrambles for grip. I appreciate the roads are very slippery and the tyres may need bedding in a little but I hope grip improves. Also understeers quite a bit nearly got caught out earlier today at a relatively slow speed going into a left-hand turn.

Other than that very happy with the car, looks great, the interior is a lovely place to be and it moves along at a decent pace when needed.

What’s the mpg like in these, real life motorway commute?
Currently getting 75+ mpg in Skoda Superb diesel (35 miles each way, 20 of which is 50 limit)
Time to change, but don’t want to drop mpg ..

My Mrs has an A4 Avant 2017, 2.0 TDI auto and it doesnt get anywhere near those figures. I think the average over the year is about 45mpg. 25 mile commute, half of which is motorway. On a longer run, maybe 60mpg max

I'm struggling to get 30mpg atm but I have a heavy right foot and it's mainly stop-start journeys
