This was today’s MPG, 30 miles throughout the day all in traffic.

Its a mystery unless someone has a link explaining

Poster says it went live in builds since ajuly however whilst using the past tense, uses the 2021 year which is in the future lol
2021MY cars went into production in the third week of July this year. If you are awaiting.a new A5 and your build week is 30 onwards your car will come with wireless Carplay and Android Auto

Hows the virtual cockpit and sat nav? Does it come already with Google maps sat view or is this a subscription?

I'm also a lover of the interior lighting, footwell etc, thought I was the only one lol

Mapping on the new MMI is far superior to the last generation. Almost Google like. Whichever company Audi is using to licence the maps from, it's very good. You can get Google Maps via Android Auto / Carplay. There's no subscription at the moment but there is still the licencing expiry dates as with the old MMI

Virtual cockpit is fabulous - graphics both on the MMI and the VC are clearer and sharper as they both use better quality screens

Just thought to update anyone still awaiting delivery slots through RGW. I had 2 cars on order that I ordered a week apart. I received confirmation on the first car (coupe) at the start of October that it would be built this week.

The second car (sportback) confirmation only just came through today but it's build slot is next week. So, although the 2 emails came nearly a month apart, the build weeks were 1 week apart still.

Not driven the car that much as of yet, but so far feels very nice. Steering is much harder compared to previous a-class I had. Takes slightly longer to pull off from stop (due to being diesel?) but power is definitely there after the initial start. Handling so far was good, only thing I missed was the rear wiper in the big downpour that came! The wheels are slightly larger around the side, so should hopefully stop any damage to the alloys.

In terms of servicing, the delivery driver said don't bother with any plans as this car will be every 2 years to service/19,000miles or might not even have - the on board computer will inform when to do it.

The touchscreen is really responsive, even the faintest touch will register to it. Haven't set up Apple CarPlay yet, as waiting for new phone to arrive tomorrow! One annoying thing so far, is can't change settings without having to physically touch the screen - no remote control button to use instead (unless I haven't come across it yet).

Will be looking at installing dashcam into the car over the weekend. Let me know if you guys want any other pics or info - will try to play around with car next few days and report any new findings.
Would be interested in how you find fitting the dash cam. Will you be fitting just a front, or a rear one too?

Will be looking to hardwire mine as soon as it comes in December (hopefully)

Your driveway will make a great photo when you get them!!

This is good to hear, though I'm still waiting for an update email, not had mine yet.

This is good to hear, I use sat nav everyday so looking forward to using it through vc.

Thanks for quick reply.

First time with a virtual cockpit but its really straightforward and the screen quality is really good - very responsive. Built in sat nav is good, but has many on screen buttons on the main screen, need to learn what each is for - look decent so far though. Went to turn off voice sound but ended up ending the route laugh

Struggling to set up the Audi account, unable to verify myself using the app (just comes with invalid number). Was able to activate account using the website but now not able to link the car to my account. Will try again tomorrow or pop into local dealership.

I've got front and rear ready to install, need to see how easy it will be to route rear. Ideally want to hardwire but might just route it to the USB-C cable in the centre console for now.

Is it wired Apple car play?

And give us your initial thoughts on MPG once you’ve given it a few runs
I wouldn't think so, as the wireless charging is in the middle console with only a USB C port there (if I remember correctly).

Will do
Yep, wiresless on 2021MY cars that went inyo production from mid July. You can buy a USB dingle to make it wireless from a third party. But at circa £170 it's not worth it. Others have managed it by long coding the system electrics and what it needs, and that is the 5G connection being made active.
So Android Auto is wireless too when mirroring to the car?

Hopefully Jin_ can confirm soon regarding the wireless ACP/Android Auto as it’s been bugging me forever!

Connected new iPhone with the car, CarPlay option came up on phone to connect wireless but nothing happened on MMI. When connected via USB C cable CarPlay message on the MMI instantly appeared - had access to Google maps, Waze, Spotify, Whatsapp, Telegram and few other apps.

So doesn't look like its wireless in this model.

I thought this A5 had keyless entry, but doesn't seem to open without using the key - can't see any settings to change in the menus. Unless it's because Audi Service hasn't fully been activated yet.

Yes, if you have a 2021MY car it is wireless... Like no wires wireless! ;-)

Keyless entry is only with comfort & sound pack.

What's the standard stereo like? I was weighing up the Comfort and Sound pack but it's pretty well equipped standard so didn't think it was worth the extra.

If you are coming from a pre-facelift A5 (2017 >19) is is far better! More range in tone, crisper and there is now no sub in the boot - a stupid place where it was vibrating on metal!

I'm in the music and sound business so always had high end systems that I use to install myself. The old A5 was woeful this new one is far superior. Not what the standard Audi systems were years ago but its fine. Many say the C&S upgrade isn't worth the money and not to bother. In reality, every one's ears are different and the music you are playing. If you are streaming low bit audio (less than 320kbps mp3 files) then I'd save your money. Listening to DAB radio - certainly save your money! None are more than 128kbps. The vast majority at 64kbps mono!

Should have the extended light pack though? E.g. lights in footwell and door cards. Cant seem to see then on OP's pics
