Audi A5 lease deals chat

Finally got round to picking up mine, absolutely love it so far and think it looks so much better in person than all the pictures I'd seen before.
Also after i picked it up Audi rang me and told me the tax saving did actually apply after i asked them a couple of months ago and they said it didn't. Which means now a grand total of £250 a month, buzzing!

So I've had mine since Christmas and thought I'd share my negative opinions on the 35 tdi as a lot of people have already talked about the positives.
Tech: First off the usb c port has already stopped working after being used only a handful of times, been a pain to get it into audi as I work and they don't supply courtesy cars at the moment due to covid, plus ordering the part from Germany took awhile.
Secondly the MMI is a bit of a faff to use as its touchscreen only, so when you're driving you struggle to use it. No android auto/apple carplay navigation on the virtual cockpit, so if waze is on I can only see it on the touchscreen. Would've been so much easier if they had left the scroll wheel instead of the useless coin compartment.
I've also got a random map update that's been trying to update for the past month, I've tried everything but doesn't seem to be progressing, so everytime I get in thr car I have this annoying notification on the notif panel that I have to swipe away.
The app also keeps saying I haven't linked the infotainment services when I've already logged into the car with my Audi login multiple times. I remember reading that just around Christmas Audi had a massive IT blowout causing many of their newer model cars to have issues like this. Could be sorted with a trip to audi but with work I can't find the time to get it sorted.
Drive: I find the start/stop doesn't always work when I'm at a traffic light, I have to turn the climate control on and off for it to kick in. Once the traffic lights go green I find it takes forever to pickup speed (granted the engine isn't the fastest)
Also this car is really thirsty. I'm not sure on exact numbers but I find I'm filling up every week around £20 and I only do inner city driving.
Overall its a decent car for the lease cost, not something I would get outright.

It's probably the worst estimation of fuel efficiency that can be. No one knows how many miles per week you do or what's the cost of diesel in your area. You can read mpg from car computer/dash. AR88 said:
Hi
After a lengthy hassle where Royal Mail postman delivered the paperwork (signed Recorded delivery) 5miles away from the dealer and cannot now locate it (this took 2 weeks to get to the bottom of) - I am finally getting the car on Wednesday. ??
GoSkippy who I currently insure with say they cannot cover the vehicle- don’t know why.
Mine is the A5 Sportback 35 TDI S Line Tronic version - any recommendations on insurance and gap insurance?
Also - I’m assuming that it has an immobiliser and tracker fitted as standard (tracking via the app)?
Any assistance on the above will be helpful.
Will send pics once delivered
Cant wait now to be honest
Mine is arriving on Thursday 1st April, can't wait! Had a quote on gap insurance for about £117 for 2 years which I would probably take. Do you guys think I should get any of the following, offered by the dealer:
2 years
8000 miles per year
Service £14.71 per month
Service and maintenance £15.66
Service, maintenance and tyres £24.36
Surely not tyres package but maybe Service or Service and maintenance? Is it worth? Its the 35tdi too.

Car came December
Average 35mpg over last 400 miles @129p - that’s still really horrible with mixed driving.
CarPlay freezes 30% of the time when I get in - get a black screen - have to re-connect. - had an update done so will monitor
The Audi App seems to work better now
My front brakes were faulty - they were heavily scored for only a 2300 mile car - after fighting with Audi they replaced brakes and discs out of good will.
Still a lot of misaligned panels on the car but ‘within spec’
Start Stop is terrible, it never really stays off for longer than 20 seconds
The gearbox when put in Auto mode jumps a lot between 4 and 5 and jerks.
Other than that all fine I suppose?

That makes me feel better about my A6! The MMI on mine has been better after a software update.Car came December

Not followed the thread for a while now, glad to see more people taking delivery of their cars!
I’ve had a relatively trouble free 3k miles in my Sportback 35tdi, although recently I’ve noticed a bit of a burning rubber smell from the rear offside after a journey a few times now.
Had the same thing when I first got the car but just put it down to running in. I’m sure it went away for a while (or maybe I just stopped noticing it). Wouldn’t expect to have this after covering 3,000 odd miles. Anyone else had this?

After short journeys or city driving by any chance?I’ve had a relatively trouble free 3k miles in my Sportback 35tdi, although recently I’ve noticed a bit of a burning rubber smell from the rear offside after a journey a few times now.

Probably just the DPF running (will sound like the engine is still going too) or it's just finished a cycle and you're smelling everything its just burnt off.
