After short journeys or city driving by any chance?
Probably just the DPF running (will sound like the engine is still going too) or it's just finished a cycle and you're smelling everything its just burnt off.
I’d not say mega short (30 minutes/20miles or so). Not done any city driving/stop start stuff since I’ve had it! Doesn’t sound like the engine is running, possibly a fan running but I’ll listen a bit closer next time.Probably just the DPF running (will sound like the engine is still going too) or it's just finished a cycle and you're smelling everything its just burnt off.
Taking it on a nice long run today so I’ll be sure to have a sniff when I get to the other end.

Updates
Car came December
Average 35mpg over last 400 miles @129p - that’s still really horrible with mixed driving.
CarPlay freezes 30% of the time when I get in - get a black screen - have to re-connect. - had an update done so will monitor
The Audi App seems to work better now
My front brakes were faulty - they were heavily scored for only a 2300 mile car - after fighting with Audi they replaced brakes and discs out of good will.
Still a lot of misaligned panels on the car but ‘within spec’
Start Stop is terrible, it never really stays off for longer than 20 seconds
The gearbox when put in Auto mode jumps a lot between 4 and 5 and jerks.
Other than that all fine I suppose?
How does this scoring of brake discs compare with yours?Car came December

Something I’ve just noticed today... This is the front near side, offside has some too but not as bad. Rears are completely clean.

Then they said the brake pads are 20% worn with only 2k on car
Then they tried blaming me
Then they claimed I didn’t drive it as often and it’s corrosion
Then they claimed a brick got stuck in between (other side was the same)
Stand firm - not what you expect from a 40k car

Anyone else having issues with wireless apple car play? Mine seems to just work when it feels like it.
When I sit in the car sometimes I get a blank screen and have to disconnect wifi and reconnect Works 80% of the time first time
This is the update I’m on - they said they’d update it but don’t think they have!

Fitted the Audi Ring Puddle Lights today as a previous poster recommended a few pages back, managed to get the genuine Audi ones for £40 on Ebay. Not for everyone I'm sure but i love them and super easy to fit literally took two minutes.
I think this was me that did the original post. It looks great! Did you struggle to get the old ones out? Mine ended up getting slightly cracked but after some persistence it came out. rayman_ said:

Audi A5 TDI 35 Sport
Spec is non-metallic black, interior beige leather, no extras (as any spend at all on top of list would have took it over £40k tax threshold)
NOT GREAT
I fear for the paint on return - it shows every mark and I fear it will chip and scratch easily as it seems 'soft'
It's showing it needs a service a month on 11 and 23 months as it was registered a month before delivery - don't want to pay for a 2nd service...
Spec is a little 'poverty' in places and has some odd omissions and contradicts in places what it says on the Audi website.
I suspect a few electronic gremlins are in the machine, it 'blue-screened' for a short while when driving and I suspect some things are unreliable in operation (tbc)
Not much space inside for a big car (yes I know it's a coupe...)
REALLY BAD
The infotainment system is a JOKE to use. I worked in software development and feel I can say that the usability of this system is criminally unintuitive, inefficient and frustrating, compounded by it being essentially touchscreen only and therefore tricky to use on the move. It's distracting, frustrating and dangerous. The dash and infotainment screen often contain either the same information multiple times or not at all. I cannot understand how this has happened as the recent top-end system on my Golf GTI was a breeze to use. I pray for a comprehensive over-air major update. Now.
REALLY, REALLY, BAD
Maybe not such a big deal to many but it really soured the new-car experience for me.
The car came from a dealer in Brighton who shall remain nameless. I live 313 miles away but occasionally go to Brighton as our head office is there. While at head office I popped in to the dealer to ask about picking the car up in person (in a months' time to coincide with my old lease car going back), therefore saving them a 626-mile round trip with trailer, expecting something reasonable in return for saving them the significant delivery expenses. Told we only deliver using drivers or it's £1 per mile at my expense for a trailer - a £626 bill was not happening - that's over two months lease costs. Poor driver I suspect had a sixteen-hour day delivering this one thanks to his inflexible employers.
So, the car is delivered after a six-hour, 313 mile road trip in a disgusting state, having driven through shoals of insects and been through seemingly umpteen thunderstorms. Alloys caked in brake dust. No real option other than to accept the car and complain. Offered £20 to "get it valeted". Told them to stick it and I'd name and shame. Yes you - Caffyns of Brighton.
GOOD
Exterior looks great, very classy
It's very quiet
It's very smooth
It's deceptively fast (I have driven all sorts so not an uninformed prognosis)
Interior is a great place to be
Economy looks promising
Overall, it's a beautiful car that I'm very happy to tootle around in for 2 years. I fear for the state it'll be in when it goes back as I suspect it'll look very tired (like a lot I see on the road) no matter how hard I try and keep it pristine. I'll have it for the best 2 years of its life though and will look after it and enjoy it. Thanks for the good work on the forum - I bought the deal, not the car and around £8.5k for a £40k list price car makes sense to me.

Comprehensive review. I agree with your comments on the paint, it does seem soft.
Shows the different approaches of dealers, my car came from a dealer about 250 miles away and was delivered on a covered trailer. It was immaculate on delivery.
My deal was a bit cheaper as well, around £7200 for 2 years 10000 miles per year.. hard to pick fault though at that price with my only real gripe being the total randomness of the apple CarPlay/mobile phone connection
