That's about right, be patient and wait it out, the only positive point for me is mines direct through a VW dealer so theyve taken no deposit and I have it in writing I can walk away anytime without any financial penalty... thing is they know there's not much out there to walk away to lease wise .... glad i went for a diesel though, could well be approaching £2 a litre by the time the car arrives. ouch !

Motor is due 3/3/22.
Actually getting excited now.
Just need to ditch a car and sort insurance.
And, as above, plan for £300 a tank of diesel.

Very good! What spec colour and engine did you go for? I've said it a few times but I think these Toerags are quite underrated motors.

Kept it fairly simple.
Black Ed in white.
The larger bhp (was cheaper!!)
Added heated rear bums and towbar (many complaints that roof bars were way too high to get bikes on on last car) really just for family bike time. If it doesn’t get used, then we see back to a small step ladder and roof bars next time!

Made up for you. First impressions?
Did you deliberately spec the silver wheels instead of the black?

£300 might be pushing it but we'll see £200 tanks before summer I reckon.

Not sure if the new Touareg's have 100 litre tanks.

Hi,
Thanks.
First impressions - drove to Tesco and back! - very nice,
Feels a lot plusher than previous X6 (f16).
Lots of tech, and too dark to understand last night. Couldn’t even get the streaming to work.
Wheels - yes, chose that colour over black. Very unforgiving the black alloy when it’s battled a pavement. Thought it looked a bit smarter.

Diesel round mine isn't of course cheap but it's 145.7 which isn't too bad

That's cheap, even Tesco's round here is 7p more.

Debating cancelling my order. Lease is 9x35 10k per annum £551 a month with met paint and interior lighting.

Just had the 12 month formal extension quote for my wifes current Touareg Black Edition. It was leased on a 12x23 10k per annum at £384 a month. For another 12 months and another 10k miles the price went down to £352.

Might take the cheap 12 months and then see where things are on another year. My only worry is in a year getting into something like a Touareg Black Edition will cost way more than £550 a month. So do I take a cheap 12 months or lock in 3 years at £550. Hmmmmm

You'll need to get a service and tyres if not already done, might be able to dodge the MOT if you're careful, but at 352 I would be sorely tempted to hang on. In another year will there not also be a model refresh?

Very true - I am going to get the cost of a service and tyres and factor in. The car is not even close to 10k miles at the moment though so we can actually extend and take only an additional 5k miles for £329 a month.

Personally I’d definitely go for the lease extension saving £200 per month and a 5k deposit

Also, I had an update from my vw dealer sending an official vw letter stating the obvious and explaining why my order will be delayed - so I can’t see this vehicle arriving until 2022 if at all…..given that extending my current lease which expires September informally for another 5 months is looking more likely….plus tbh I’m questioning if I really need such a big SUV for carrying just me and a labradoodle ;-)

Out of interest, does anybody have any feedback on the V6 TSI in comparison to the TDI? I'm driving the TDI but it's due back end of this year, intrigued to hear how the petrol equivalent feels?

Cheers

Thirsty and you miss that lug of mid range torque. I would rather have the weaker powered diesel than the petrol one.

Just requested to extend mine by 12 months. Current mileage is already on 18k (8k a year is my contract) so already 2k over. Will see how much this effects the new quote.

I was confused as on VWFS it stated you can do 3 months straight away or apply for 6-12 months? Is that the same with everyone elses?

You can do 3 months informal extension on the same terms with VWFS. With the supply chain issues and delayed deliveries etc you can currently also request 6 months on the same terms via the website https://customer.vwfs.co.uk/Forms/contract-hire-ex...

VWFS are also allowing people to extend on the same terms for as long as needed if they have another VWFS group car on order and can produce an order number.

To extend for 12 months its a formal extension and a quote is required. You also have to complete the duration of the contract. A quote is created by the random number generator that is the VWFS machine. The price might shoot up, plummet of stay roughly the same. Its a lottery in most cases.

You can request a quote for a formal extension 6 months out from the end of agreement date. Each quote is valid for 30 days and then you can request another. My advice is request a quote at 6 months and if the price is not suitable keep requesting a quote every 30 days as the price will change.

When I extended my S5 the current monthly was £412. First few quotes were over £1,000 then eventually I received £374 a month and accepted. Still kicking myself I didnt buy the car after the lease. I was offered it for an incredible £23,500 but couldnt be bothered with sorting a loan etc. Could have sold it for nearer £30k right now.
