One thing I have noticed is that the R-LINE badge in the grille has changed to resemble the R model. I thought that was strange. I’m not sure what an R model now has that differentiates it, I think I was it with just the R acorns the back, rather that TOUAREG
An R model isn’t a diesel for a start. DSLiverpool said:

Yeah the side trims have also changed with the new R logo and less of a chrome look. Also the front lower trim strip looks to be black now not chrome like ours was. I had our exhaust trims sprayed gloss black as a little mod - always bothered me almost everything else was black not chrome as per black edition but they fitted two large chromed exhaust trims
Anyone getting any news on their orders?
My wife's order - Black Edition 286 with extended interior lighting and Aquamarine paint - had a locked in build week of week 21 (May) but doesn't appear to have been completed yet.
The dealer did say a car with build week 23 was built and completed last week but that was a standard white car and spec is influencing actual build and completion dates. Completion meaning a car at 95% is having the chips, conductors and other bits added.
My 8 series replacement - Golf GTI Clubsport - is due for build week commencing 15th August so it will be interesting to see what happens there.

I had this last week below , although I’m starting to question if I need a car this size, that being said there’s nothing else out there at a reasonable monthly cost, followed up
a deal at leaseloco on a new Q2 delivery M340i touring with similar pricing to the Touareg…turned out their marketing department had cocked up on the numbers and the deal ( 77/100) was pulled, very annoying :-(
‘The car is built now and has left the factory, it’s currently in transit to the Port in Germany to be shipped to the UK, it should be arriving in the UK in approx 3-4 weeks.’

Great news. What spec / colour are you getting? I think you will like the space it offersa deal at leaseloco on a new Q2 delivery M340i touring with similar pricing to the Touareg…turned out their marketing department had cocked up on the numbers and the deal ( 77/100) was pulled, very annoying :-(

Same colour as old lonesome peas oddly enough and standard BE which I’m happy with having seen earlier pics he posted- the dealer offered me this colour versus my original order that was grey which had a build slot somewhere in April 23 but could be longer so I swapped.
I am looking forward to the practical side of it which I miss with the 840 - you can imagine what the back seat looks like after a beach visit with the labradoodle :-)

I’ve been told my ordered in May 21 Black Edition for Sept 21 with coloured ambient lighting and all wheel steering will now be MY23 which presumably will be a facelift model.
Also interested if others have ordered all wheel steering, as most reviews remark on it being a must have extra.

I'll be honest had our current 2020 black edition for almost 2 years and never once thought it needed all wheel steer. Be curious to try one with it though. Also interested if others have ordered all wheel steering, as most reviews remark on it being a must have extra.
MY23 won't be the facelift there will just be one or two subtle changes to either spec, trim etc. Facelift is due mid 2023 and will be new front and rear bumpers new lights and some updated graphics for the digital cockpit and media system.
I had the AWS on my original order based on reviews highlighting advantages of turning circle and cornering and also given its relatively low cost as an option …. Removed based on dealers advise as would at the time dramatically increase lead in - having the choice again I would probably give it a try but given I’ve been driving an 840 GC (barge) for the last couple of years which is longer and wider I’m hoping I will manage without

These 840s are a barge to steer. First car I've had that I try and avoid drive thru's with. The Touareg is far easier to navigate round such places. Benito88 said:

I was a bit unsure of the colour after I ordered it, I wanted blue (not black). Weirdly, more people have commented on the colour than any other car I’ve ever had. It has a weird ability to almost change colour depending on where you’re stood! The car is stunning. I had an XC60 and a Discovery Spkrt before it and they’re not even close to this one.
