Does the apple car play now fit the whole screen on the 2022 models? On my 2020 model it’s shrunk down.
Shrunk - go to 9 mins. I have never actually seen value in Android Auto or Apple Carplay - I must be missing something. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRkfjiVFNvc

I’ve the latest incarnation of the Audi MMI in a C8 A6 with tech pack. Apple CarPlay is just leagues ahead in UI, apps and features.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRkfjiVFNvc
I tried to get on with the Audi system, but it just seems pointless when you can import all the apps and settings from your iPhone. Waze is particularly good.

Just as an enquiry/ update.
Got mine in March. A BE 286 in white.
Fantastic to sit in, fantastic on the motorway.
But… I find the gearbox awful. Especially around town, and if you boot it, it seems to take hours before it launches.
Mentioned to dealer and got waffle about the DSG “learning our style”.
Previous 16 plate Touareg was far smoother.
Touch screen is ok. I’d prefer some more knobs.
And the Lane keeping assist is absolute pile of poo.
It’s nearly killed me a few times.
Looks great. Lovely to sit in. Loads of tech makes no sense.
For example the wife had heated seats on in the evening, if I take it the morning after they’re still on.
Maybe I’m missing something, just a few counter intuitive things.
If I could have given it back after a month I would have.
To repeat, on a motorway it’s great. About town, it’s juddery and over complex.

Gearbox isn't the best out there but I've never felt it to be dire. It does take a moment to kickdown but around town I've never had any issues really. Depends what you are used to I guess. Got mine in March. A BE 286 in white.

The auto in my 840 is definitely better but the auto box doesn't spoil the Toerag for me.
I coded off the lane assist but you can turn it off in the settings although not sure if you have to do that everytime you start. The lane assist on all VAG cars is the same - pretty dangerous!
Shame that's your experience but it's interesting to hear.

I might be due a whoosh parrot here, but Touareg doesn’t have a DSG does it?Mentioned to dealer and got waffle about the DSG “learning our style”.

Bit of a revelation for me.
Anyone else had similar experience with the gear box or is it ok - had a test drive organised after a general viewing at a local vw dealer which I wished I’d gone through with - I have the lease agreement ready to sign but I’m finding myself hesitant in doing so wondering if the car will meet my expectations - also concerned over domestic fuel bill which now starts with a 7 from October :-(

Pretty sure they didn’t.
They told me all sorts when I couldn’t get the car to link to the app.
Eventually needed a new part. I knew I was doing it right!!
Gearbox - dsg or not. They said it learns your style. Oh aye!!
Well, 6 months in, it hasn’t.
I didn’t get a test drive, maybe wish I had.
It’s a great car though, looks fab, and is nice to be in.
Previous car was an X6 and the gearbox was smooth. And it went fast. If you try and spank the VW it’s just a bit lethargic and jerky from 0. Once you’re 30/40mph it’s far smoother.
Best example is pulling out of a tight junction. You want to go but have to dial in a 2 second delay, which is counter intuitive as you’d go when there is no gap so that by the time it’s actually going you’re in the gap.
I’m sure the previous Touareg wasn’t like this. 2016 model was a great car and never put a foot wrong. And cost half what this costs. That’s life!!

Just out of interest…
Does anybody else’s do this -
For example drive home from a late shift, heated seat and wheel on.
Next day, sun’s out 22 degrees. Set off, and realise the seat heater and wheel came back on.
Also quite satisfying to see its more than £1000 a month to lease the same car.
Re the gearbox. I’ll try it in sport later to see if it’s still lethargic.
Never really felt the need before but I’m just trying to see if it’s a Friday afternoon gearbox or me?
