Did you get decent rental? Enterprise provided me with A6, even though I told them any small car will do for 2 days. But they still found me the closest match to my car, probably to charge Assistance more.

Always irked me why on the black edition they left the exhausts and front splitter strip chrome - had to get a refurb done on front wheel for a scuff and had those bits done gloss black at the same time.

I did get a rental from Europcar. Was offered a ford focus or a Peugeot 3008 which are both far too small for my family requirements especially with no timeframe given as to when they will receive the back order parts etc so waited 2 days to eventually be given a passat estate. Unfortunately, for me they were not willing to find a closest match to the Touareg. Still no update on when I will get my Touareg back.

10k in and my oil level is below minimum. Not even had a warning come up on the dash, it’s just that I was playing about with the screen that I noticed it.

Looks good. The other part I feel needs to be black are the chrome side R badges on the front wings.

Will there be an issue with that at the end of the lease, as the car is no longer standard?

No it's not something that will be a problem. I've done tiny mods like this many times before with lease cars via VWFS and never had any issues.
Several leases I had were stock cars (not a factory order) and never had privacy glass so I had the windows tinted. Never an issue when returned.
My cheap S5 lease had auto hold retrofitted and the calipers sprayed a different colour and the windows tinted when returned. Not issues.

Not saying everyone should do this but I have never had an issue.

I am taking one for a test drive tomorrow and looking forward to it... I'm interesting to see if the gearbox is an issue, like its made out to be in many of the reviews.

It's not as bad as people make out. It isn't perfect by any means, and holds the first 2 gears a little to long but overall its absolutely fine for this kind of vehicle. The worst I have experienced is in an A6 50tdi. The lag and responsiveness was woeful.

Yep like you I think the lag isnt to bad and something I will get used to. Any one had issues with the Front assist slamming the brakes on unexpectedly? Can you adjust the sensitivity?

I've not had issue with Front assist, its come on a couple of times in forgivable situations. However its not as bad as the 5 series it replaced.

For cruising I find selecting Eco Mode much better as the box shifts lower down the rev range in the fist few gears.

Its a car that likes being driven sedately or full on. Fantastic engine!

Looks like the VW PCH "campaign" is back on for the Black edition again.

Just managed to secure one of the last PCH VW "Hot Offers" Black Edition V6 3.0 TDI 286bhp on a 3 year deal. Added a couple of extras (including Moonlight Blue paint) so bumped the price up a bit but still happy with it coming in under 35% of P11D (23% equivalent on a 2 year deal). I know it's not as good as those who got the 3 months free a while ago but a dealer contribution of £1200 helped. Managed to take one for a test drive (difficult to find!) before ordering and any other cars soon dropped off the list. Targeting November delivery but aware this could be impacted by chip shortages.

How is everyone getting on with their cars? Ours post bath at the weekend. Takes me way longer to wash this one than the 8 series!

That looks great. Apt user name Simon!

Just come back from 2no 25min journeys , mix town, country and dual carriage ways and not hanging about.
46mpg average. 46mpg!! Over 49min ave 31mph. Brilliant.

We've done about 5k miles in 9 months. Even though I cant jell with it, its a great machine.

How many miles per annum is that for? If 10K looks about right.

8k P/A - reckon I can find cheaper? It seems okay but obviously not as good as some have got on here, sigh!
