Had mine nearly three weeks now and have to say that it is a vast improvement over our previous A35 AMG. The refinement is in another class - smoother to drive and better built than the Merc. Definitely worth the wait!
Agreed. It’s a big step up on the 7.5 too. I’ve done 5k in about 10 weeks of ownership and it’s been faultless. They go like stink, hugely fast on the road, with noticeably better handling than the 7: you can feel the rear pushing the car round corners. We had one for a week (courtesy car, don’t ask), but the interior was just awful….the infotainment system, even when you know how it works, does your head in. What were they thinking of?

Mine has been shunted back twice since my last post, now expected end of February 22
I should expect it to be pushed back still further according to my dealer.
Similar message from the dealer I am using.I should expect it to be pushed back still further according to my dealer.
The conversation today was actually quite puzzling, with the salesman mentioning me cancelling the order, a total of 6 times, during the call. It makes me wonder if there is another issue, apart from the chip shortage, which is given as the issue. Do they think they can get a couple of £k more, by selling the build slot?
I saw an article today, where it talked about KIA having negotiated favourable supply terms for chips, from Korean manufacturers. I also see that Tesla are being reported as having improved supply of chips.
Have VW missed something here?
The dealer suggested that cars were still being built, but then sitting in a field, waiting for a retro fit of the missing chips.

A dealer told me the same with lots of cars already built and just waiting for chips to be fitted. On a side note I read somewhere that Tesla don't have the same problem as they don't use the same chips and the computer does a lot more than a computer in other makes. Tesla use more modern tech.
