For what this costs I’ve worked out I can almost get a new 6 birth camper with 2 double beds, toilet and shower. As a 50 year old this sets my pulse racing.
Spend that on a shopping trolley? Only an idiot would do that.
Or you could be in the lucky position to be able to have both?Spend that on a shopping trolley? Only an idiot would do that.
Everyone is entitled to spend their money on what they want too.

But who wants to own a caravan even with a steering wheel fitted.

He has a point. The new golf R is very expensive.

Indeed very bizarre, but if your going down the expensive route? £28k for an electric Corsa for another £10k you could get a Golf R emmmBut who wants to own a caravan even with a steering wheel fitted.
The really silly thing is that a 6 berth camper appears to be a £75k purchase of new. So I can only assume that this is “almost” the same price as a new (not discounted) golf R because it’s going to be a few years old. An expensive 2nd hand purchase and potentially of limited use with covid / 3rd wave.
Who would spend £75k on a camper van when you can buy a flat by the sea for similar money in Spain or any other invalid price comparison one wants to make.

Were people saying how expensive the £30k R was back in 2010 because the price rises have tracked inflation so it's no more expensive in real terms, yet the 8 is faster, safer and has more equipment as standard. My first Civic Type R retailed at £15995 but I don't complain the new one is very expensive because it's more than double that now. But who wants to own a caravan even with a steering wheel fitted.
List price is largely irrelevant of these too and 90%(?) are only concerned about the monthlies and £350pm for a quick practical car with warranty, I think it's fairly priced.

I totally agree. When they interviewed the Vauxhall chairman ref electric cars he replied as 90% of cars are purchased with a pcp an electric corsa only adds £20 a month over the petrol model.
Its the price you pay a month now

340ps and 440nm, so 20ps and 20nm over the stated figures, and that was on a car with 150 miles on it. I'd like to see a comparison though, because the DMS rolling road is reported to be a bit optimistic.
I'm loathed to watch AHR videos too, but this one was quite interesting, particularly with regard to the gearing, which is basically responsible for its ridiculous drag race results.
Hes just fitted a Miltek exhaust, i must admit im not really that impressed , just a few popsI'm loathed to watch AHR videos too, but this one was quite interesting, particularly with regard to the gearing, which is basically responsible for its ridiculous drag race results.

Hard to see how the automatic four pot turbo powered 40k hot hatch market still exists with the Tesla Model 3 on the market.
Really? Totally different cars. Tesla doesn’t interest me at all. The Golf R is a good fun, nippy, good handling, economical car and is much cheaper than a milk float. Gazzab said:

The Golf, with its four pot turbo and automatic transmission and fake engine sound, represents everything that makes me not give a toss about the demise of ICE.
It’s a fantastic car though. Is there a fantastic electric car that appeals to ‘drivers’ in the £40k or below bracket?Gassing Station | Audi, Seat, Skoda & VW | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
