Interesting read! Is your car on the way Eddie? Mine is at the port, think mine is going to be loaded on the GLOVIS STELLA ship possibly.
Yes , left port on the 29th June the salesperson said. However it was too late to track as I can't go backwards on a date in marine tracker to see what possible ship. I did get a curtesy email yesterday which they expect 6-8 weeks for shipping and he will be in touch soon to arrange collection. I bet your car is probably on the SILVER RAY (the one in the article you posted) as it was at the port on the 28th June, it's due to arrive in Belgium tomorrow morning!
It looks like glovis stella is heading to the USA so mine isn't going on that lol

I sort of got excited (sad I know) reading the above posts. So...
Phoned my sales guys this afternoon expecting to hear that my car was now on a ship and heading to Europe. It's definitely been built (build week 22) and the build is marked as completed, with the car in transit from the factory. But still showing status 30, while I thought it would have moved to status 39 vehicle on ship. By all accounts it's showing as the build having been completed some 36 days ago (which sort of ties up with a build week of 22). So at least it's not awaiting some missing component, or so I've been assured.
Mind you... the sales guy did comment that he has seen this a few times and then he looks out of the window a few days later and there is the car sitting outside the garage on a transporter.
O'well... done when it's done I suppose

I think there's a very good chance your car is on the Silver Ray, Mike . If it was built 36 days ago, there seems no reason that it wouldn't be on the ship. They have moved an extra 1.5k cars, perhaps the processing system has had issues. Phoned my sales guys this afternoon expecting to hear that my car was now on a ship and heading to Europe. Lets hope so. Fingers crossed MrPolo said:

Pelagic Piranha which left 12th July, could have your car on it.
Latest update:
Just spoken to me dealer again (last update was 2 weeks ago) and he says that by all accounts the cars coming from South Africa don't get STATUS updates till they land at the UK (as opposed to ones made in Europe). So it just "appears" that it's stuck at Status 30. My bad, think I got the wrong end of the stick talking to him last time.
It would appear that my car is on the RCC Europe and left South Africa on the 27th July.
Marinetraffic.com says that it's currently heading for Abidjan (updated 1st Aug). A fair way to go yet then! TBC

Mike, did the dealer tell you the ship name ?
As I assume mine was on the Silver Ray, but you never know !
Gutting for you , for whatever reason it was delayed, perhaps a specific GTI part.
I haven't heard from mine, so I assume it's still in Germany. Possibly.
Yes, the dealer told me the name of the ship. I am of course assuming that his info is correct. We shall see.As I assume mine was on the Silver Ray, but you never know !

I imagine September is going to be the month for the dealerships, as previously cars were being drip fed to them. And now the massive push in production- which possible might not continue due to shortages Hopefully it will arrive at the dealership, on one of the out of the blue, transporters your dealer mentions.
