Good news. At least you know that it's on the move now.

I'm assuming this info came from your dealer?
Only what ship it's on came from my dealer.

With that info I just googled "RCC EUROPE shipping schedule" and this came up:

https://www.nmtshipping.com/sailing-schedules/afri...

It seems to be slightly ahead of schedule, so could be at Emden slightly earlier, assuming it doesn't stop anywhere else on the way (it's not scheduled to but it's possible).

Does anyone know how long are they likely to stay in Emden, and then on to the uk ?
As the ship I think mine is on, went to Emden, and then on to Bremerhaven.
Hopefully I will hear from my dealer soon....

It can take up to 2 weeks (depending on backlog at Emden) to get on a ship at Emden heading to the UK.

Then it can take up to another 2 weeks to get on a transporter to the dealer.

I believe the RCC EUROPE is scheduled to stop at Abidjan looking at the schedule you point to. Marinetraffic.com also mentions stopping at Abidjan, ETA 7/8/2022, so 2 days ahead of schedule. My guess would be that they will be unloading some cars. Then onto Emden.

Yes you are correct, sorry I just worded it poorly my bad, I meant to say after Abidjan.

It's just that I was tracking the Pelagic Piranha ship recently before I was told what ship I was on and it stopped at Southampton overnight, even though it wasn't scheduled to. We'll soon find out once it leaves Abidjan!

Indeed. Just noticed that myself. Getting closer.

Just a shame that the free access to sites like Marinetraffic .com etc. rely on terrestrial AIS receivers, unless you take a paid option for satellite tracking. So the ship/s often appear "out of range" until they come within range of an AIS receiver. And I don't think there are many round the coast of Africa and their range is pretty limited as well!

Yep I know what you mean! They do offer a free trial but I'm not too fussed to be honest. Once it reaches Portugal though we'll be able to track it minute by minute all the way to Emden lol.

Looks like the ETA has now changed to 18th.

Eddie, not sure if your in the South of England but the ship MALACCA HIGHWAY is due in to Sheerness this morning with a load of VW's.

My dealer just rung, car is at uk port and should be with them next week, so when did we want it.
Going for September 1st, which I wanted a september pick up as I guessed it would arrive before or after.
Not too long for you both now.

Great news!
Indeed, hopefully we should get ours early September going by the same timeframe as yours.

Still waiting on news about the wife's GTi. Hopefully it is on one of the ships mentioned.

Am also now considering a second one as mine/daughter's car. 1.0 DSG 95 R Line in Violet. Dealer has one coming in next few weeks via Car Wow. Anyone got the 1.0 engine?

My son's will be the 95, as the 110 is dsg and we wanted him to learn to drive in a manual. We test drove an older polo which would have been similar engine wise and it was ok. But if there was a 110 manual we probably would have bought that. Although wales is going 20mph next year , the joy !!

Well she learnt in a manual Micra (which is our current share) but is not very confident. She had a test drive in an Auto Corsa and felt much more comfortable. With everything going electric and auto eventually I didn't think it worth the perseverance with the Manual. She has the manual licence now and DSG is pretty much common place now.

There is no difference on her current insurance going to a 110 Polo (which I found odd) but the online quotes vary widely between 95/110 so am worried I will get stung come renewal.

we would have probably gone auto if he had passed his test, but hasn`t started long due to getting instructors, and no family member has an auto ,for me to take him out in. We`ve struggled having use of a manual for him the last few months.
However the memories of taking my eldest in my auto bmw so he could practice steering and breaking, on a private road before an instructor -priceless !!
if you reserved the car, and changed your mind the garage will refund your deposit, I`ve had that mentioned a few times over the 11 months - got a feeling the dealership wanted my car...
On insurance , before when I looked I thought the R line was group 7/9 , but now its 14E

We have got 2 new polos with the 1.0l 95 engine )with manual transmission not dsg).

I haven’t driven them mulch as they are my daughters cars. However, with my limited usage, i have been pleasantly surprised with the engine. Not a rocket ship but nippy enough around town and copes with all the hills we have locally without any bother. Comfortable motorway cruise. Would buy the same again if I was replacing them

Thanks both, and sorry for the derailment. I can put this to bed now. We bought a Seat Ibiza 110 FR. Managed to find one at a good price and with the money saved it will more than cover any additional premiums for a few years. It also went very well.
