Shame.. suppose I'll get used to it. Default mode in the Hyundai is "off".
Just lucky that they don't get mandatory "intelligent speed assist"... yet ... (coming to all new cars sold after July 2024 I believe).

Not a word from my dealer yet. Surely after some 10 days, it can't still be sat at the Port of Tyne?
Might give them a phone late tomorrow afternoon if I've still not heard anything.

At last some good news.

The dealer has now confirmed that my car has arrived and handover booked for next Tuesday at 11AM spin

Great news Mike.
Does that mean all of us who had long orders, will have finally received their cars ?

Wife's car is being delivered next Tuesday as well. 6/12 to 13/9 - one of the longest waits I have had to do.

Picked my car up from the Ayr dealership this morning. It seems to dive well. A lot more comfortable than the I30N if I'm being totally honest. And even in normal driving mode appears pretty nippy.
Just got to give myself time to get used to an automatic again.

Only things that I've picked up on though are:
- The touch controls on the steering wheel seem to get pretty hot!
- Annoying that you can't have the air pointed at your feet, center vents and the front windscreen at the same time.

Can't complain I suppose it that's all I've got to moan about.

Nightmare drive back though. What should have taken about 2 hours coming the scenic route back... took over twice that because of first a bad smash on the A77, then another on the A714. Just life I suppose.

Wife's turned up yesterday on a transporter from Kent smile Use it to go to the game last night, very nice bit of kit.

Starting to now wish that I had gone for the key-less start/unlock. Standard on my last 5 cars.
Did not think that I would miss it!
Already lost count of the times that I've come up to the car with my arms full of stuff and then thought "bugger" I need a key to open the car.
Also find myself looking for the "start button".
Suppose I'll get used to it.

I've also struggled to find the right hand gesture to dismiss the initial satnav screen (think it's supposed to represent your favorites). Wish it could just go straight to the map. I've looked for an option to adjust that but can't find anything. You can touch a virtual button on the satnav screen to dismiss it, but it then leaves fingerprints.

Otherwise I'm still enjoying the car and finding new stuff in it each day.

Looked at how much it was to enable voice control... £249 for an activation code... what a rip off!!!

I cut a tablet screen protector to fit ours, as eventually I know it will be full of McDonald's greasy prints, it seems to work OK, although I too haven't mastered the hand swipe direction. Will have to investigate voice control...

Have you or worsey looked under the bonnet yet? Have you a engine cover? Not on mine questioned the dealer according to them its a VW recall the same as golf R's the cover comes un-clipped and falls down the back of the engine and catches fire. Checked the GOV recall pages they are right about the Golf, no mention og Polo GTI

I’ve just pressed the button on a Life spec Polo, to replace our Fabia as family runabout (and most-used car).

Options are: DSG, sunroof, parking sensors, phone charging pad, spare wheel. Ordered in metallic silver for longevity’s sake.

Drivethedeal were offering 13% off for this spec, with about a third of the discount being conditional on taking PCP. The offer technically applied to orders received by yesterday, so I’ll have to wait and see if it’s honoured.

There are some good deals on the Polo and Ibiza (in today's market at least), less so for the Fabia and A1. Let’s hope I can still sell our old Fabia for a good price once the Polo arrives - it’s currently getting offers 15% above what it cost 18 months ago.

Ideally I’d have liked the 110hp rather than 95hp 1.0 engine, but that combination is unavailable here with the Life spec. Otherwise it looks like a cracking package.

Yes, I have an engine cover on mine. Just plain though (IE. no GTI lettering).

Yes there is an engine cover on ours. Can't recall if it is lettered but I double checked on delivery.
