RS6 - worth changing from a 911?
Discussion
I am considering whats next from my 996 targa for about 2 and half years time, and the RS6 estate is high on the list. not driven one yet but had a scoopy estate and loved it, just now want the build quality of the porker, the umph of the porker, but the space of the scooby.
The audi I specked up was cheeper than the porker as well.

I've just collected a new RS6 Avant yesterday, and after numerous Porsche's the last of which was a 996 GT2, would make the following observations:
With the RS6 debadged in Ebony Black it is quite possibly the ultimate Q car. In 250 miles of driving no-one has given it a second look! I got more looks in my Black de-badged S8.
The engine is possibly the cars best atribute, turbine like thrust in any gear, coupled with a NASCAR V8 wail. The steering is slightly numb but in a large heavy road car you dont want to feel every stone & ripple. Great body control with good bump absorbtion. Granite build quality and superb Recaro seats. Not the drivers tool like an M5 but far more versatile and exclusive. Just ordering the A6 2.5tdi badges!

I had an RS6 for the weekend from an Audi dealer whom we do much construction work for. They are really quick but do everything for you. If you want a real drivers car, better stick with a TVR. I loved the RS6 and wanted one for a family car. 11mpg doesn't wash though!! I bought an A6 ALLROAD instead 2.5 TDi and had it chipped. That's 225bhp and goes really well returning 32mpg. I still l,ove the Tuscan which we use in the summer, but anything more than 4hrs in it really tells on you. Especially in this heat!!!
