I am looking for some advice regarding the passenger and drivers side windows on my wifes Audi TT. On a couple of occassions when she has returned to the car after it has been parked, she has found the passenger window has dropped by around 1". Last night, the car alarm went off and I went to see what the problem was and I found the drivers window open by around 3". It must have been open for a while as rain water had got in and the drivers seat was wet. It had been a rainy day yesterday so I know she would not have had the window open and forgot to close it.

Is this a common problem with the TT or do we have a more serious electrical problem with the windows?

Any information would be appreciated.

You might want to try tt-forum for this, but I recall there is an issue with the frameless doors - the windows drop a touch when the door is opened and go back up when the door is shut and something to do with the anti-trap mechanism I believe.

this is a common problem with the TT, so have a look on the TT-forum for what solutions people were able to obtain (fortunately mine never suffered from this)

The usual problem is shutting both doors within a second or so of each other. The window(s) drop immediately after - confuses the poor little computer! Rumours abound of solutions but I've never been bothered - happened about 5 times in 4 years of owning one.
