there's a few on rs246.com who have had a exhaust upgrade and a remap, someone said they managed to get a 4.2 second 0=60 with an average of 4.5 ot do, prtdonsllu im of the opinion there is bound to be a price to be paid in terms of reliability. Audi managed 500bhp out of a tuned RS4 for the Le Mans pace car they used pre-launch and are fully aware of what they can get out of the engine, the fact they detuned it to deliver 414 is obviously for a reason.
My personal view is i would wait until the car is out of warranty, if you get an aftermarket remap and you cook your engine in the first 3 year's i don't believe you will have a cat in hells chance of getting audi to pick up the tab.

If you've got deep pockets, MTM do a supercharger to take it to 550bhp. There's a vid somewhere on youtube - awesome sound!

Be carefull when chipping the RS4 V8. I was talking to a couple of design engineers in the summer about this engine, one of them have seen it on bench test. Apparently the fueling isn't what it should be because the injector isn't in the right place in the head. The S4 has a 40 valve head, so to have the room to put an injector (for the Fsi) they had to leave a valve out, and used it's space to put the injector, which isn't really the right place for it. So the engine has to be over fueled to make sure there isn't any weak spots to burn the piston. So if you want to supercharge something, start with the S4 engine.

Has anyone had a B7 RS4 tuned? Was it worth it?
Yes & defo yes.Mine has a DMS re-map & a Miltek valved/resonated Cat Back system & it's just sublime.
No idea what the Dyno outputs are, as i take comfort & feedback from the actual driving experience & my arse dyno, rather than what some tweaked dyno says. Tis true that the FSI V8 takes a few miles to open up, so brand new cars tend to be about 10-15BHP under the mfctrs power claims, but post 10K miles (tests on rs246.com substantiate this) a stock car will be on par with the mfctrs claim.
At a guess, i'd say i'm only getting an extra 25-30BHP at best & perhaps 40-50nm torque, but it's the way this is delivered that makes the biggest difference, as the rev-limiter is increased to 8400rpm & the car pulls right up to the red-line & in gear torque is simply mind blowing.
Is it worth the outlay? say £2500? for me it certainly is, but for the big gains you need forced induction, as n/a engines can only be fettled so much. I've no fear of realiability, as the Cosworth developed V8 was originally destined to have a 9K rev-limit, but the noise & emission fairies decided to peg the stock limit back to 8150rpm.
How much of the extra performance "feel" do you think comes from the very simple removal of the 50% throttling below 5500rpm in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear? That has to make a MASSIVE difference to how the car feels, without actually putting anymore stress on the engine.
I'd pay to just have that done.
