the time has come to change these on my 16v.
for me the choice is between using o.e. volkswagen bushes,or going over to easier-to-fit polyurethane ones(super-flex etc.).
2nd choice would be easier and cheaper but ive heard stories that fitting these no doubt longer-lasting alternatives to originals can upset the handling of the car, making it quite'twitchy'.
im minded to go with the poly-bushes,so has anyone had any bad experiences with them on these cars?

The standard rear bushes are designed to give the car a degree of passive rear-steer; I'd stick with standard ones (and have done on mine).

I went for VW G60 top mounts, standard VW beam bushes and everything else poly-bushed. Ride on mine is quite hard on coilovers so wanted to avoid making it any worse!

One word of advice; don't fit GSF bushes or mounts as they're made of cheese.

Hi mate, poly bushing the rear can also make the car a bit twitchy. Polybush the front, stick with the standard VAG bushes on the rear.

I used powerflex on the rear of mine and found the horror stories of it being twitchy etc to be unfounded. Rock solid.
