Have you thought about square wheels? They will look different to everyone elses but like other wheel 'upgrades' will also ruin the ride.

What size have you got on now?
I have 17s on mine at the min, they were on when I bought the car.
Im changing them for 16s or 15s soon as I can afford to

to gazzab,

away and give me peace as my old dad used to say.
if you've nothin intelligent to say then dont bother.....

i have the standard speedlines on it at the moment. i like the wheel itself i just think its a bit small and out of proportion to the rest of the car.

i have seen a set of 17 inch wheels, speedline challenger, but have been told by my local wheel supplier that bigger wheels wont fit....problems with clearence over the brake caliper.

but then of course there are loads of corrados rollin about with 17's fitted so am now very confused.

cheers

17s are the largest you can go (depending on ride height) without spending a fortune on arch work to gain extra clearance.

Plenty from the parts bin you can raid, I think the 17" TT comps look particularly good on Rados.

My point was pretty simple despite my sarcasm - the perceived wisdom is (or certainly was back in the early to mid 90s) that bigger wheels ruin the fine handling of Corrados. Maybe this wisdom has moved on since that time.

i used to run 16x7j BBS RS with 195x40 my old raddo:

if i'm honest it drove a tiny bit better on the speedlines over rougher surfaces, didn't look half as nice tho in my opinion:

I got the standard speedlines and a set of 17" BBS splits when i bought mine.

17's were immediatelty binned as the ride was awful.

I've been advised by powers far greater than I that the 17s ruin the ride quality. I think that a good ride is far better than looks so I am going to get my original Speeedlines refurbished as when new they look lovely and I believe that they suit the lines of the car very well.

As already said... polished TT Competition wheels look the dogs danglies on Corrados. They look classy, but don't make the car look boyracer, or pimp my ride, as so many wheels do.

Many owners go straight for 17" which is fine if you don't give a damn about handing. Slam the ride height so the front lower wishbones are pointing upwards to really wreck things further.

Personally, I think you'll have to go a long, long way to better the standard Speedlines. I have had my originals refurbished in gunmetal grey and have a spare set in matt black with R888's on them for track days.

If you do need to change then head over to http://the-corrado.net/forum/ where the subject of offsets, stud patterns, profiles and widths have been discussed ad nauseum.

The standard wheels are 6.5Jx15, 5X100 stud pattern, ET43 offset, by the way.

You're such a nerd Jon! We can always count on you to come up with every last detail where the VR6 Corrado is concerned.

i think the style of the standard rims suit the car perfectly....just think they look a tad small, thats why i liked the speedline challenge rim. is exactly the same rim, just bigger

You'll need that info if you want to buy a set of wheels that actually fit.

The above figures only apply if he goes for the same size though, its a good place to start as a guideline but different widths would require different offsets.

Yes, true. But it's a good starting point knowing exactly what your current wheels are. smile
