Only 60k on the clock...standard atm...only seeing an average of circa/low 20s mpg wise...unless its accelerator is tickled incredibly lightly with a feather (and a fluffy small one at that rolleyes) What needs replacing to increase the mpg? maf recently cleaned, air filter replaced had a good dose of redex and a couple of tanks of tesco super unleaded any ideas or suggestions are positively welcomed thumbup

I have a 2000 A3 1.8T 150bhp which is totall standard with about 59k miles on the clock and I average about 31 mpg out of a tank. It does dip to about 24 when driven hard but nowhere near as low as yours.

On a motorway run at 80-80mph its up to 40mpg.

Not sure what it could be, I presume its all serviced etc?.

My Octy VRS standard was doing about 36mpg round town and 48 on a run.

Get your car read for errors, it could be one of many sensors including the MAF or lambda probe.

Other than that, check for blockages in the air system, get a service done by a respected specialist.

My Vrs with a re=mapp got average 32mpg 24 when going hard and 40+ when cruzing.
As said get checked as VAG are notorious for elecrical (sensor) problems.
