Hi,

Need some new 225/45ZR17 tyres for my A3. Main priorities are long-lasting, economic and quiet ride. Any recommendations, or more importantly, which tyres should I avoid? I was thinking of going to Costco and getting some Michelins from there as Ive heard there as cheap as I'll find.

Thanks.

Going by your priorities, avoid Dunlop SP Sport Maxx. By far the loudest tyre I've had on any car. They grip brilliantly, but god they're noisy!

I got Michelin PS2s in the size you mention for my 147 GTA from Costco.

Great tyres for grip, durability and noise and a great great price from Costco - go for it.

Costco is really good for Michelins and they are great tyres.

I'm running on Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics at the moment and they are brilliant but do take a few mles to bed in. My car came from the factory with SportMaxx's and I didn't really ike them.

Pick up Toyo T1-R's if within/close to your budget. You'll not be disappointed.

AVOID Pirelli P6000 like the plague. Like having McDonalds trays under the rear wheels!
