Hi,

I have an 07 A4 3.0 TDI, it has chewed through it near side front tyre (Contact Sport 2)in 9k miles.....

I have spoken to Conti, they say it is probably down to my driving style!

Anyone else had similar wear?

Am I just wasting my time trying Audi?

All you can do, is have a four wheel alinement check, and if it is ok, yes, it's probably you.

I get through a set of tyres in about 9 to 10k in my S4.

Would seem to be about right according to the wear on our 3.0 tdi A4. Just 5 months old, 7k miles and its only got about 2mm left above the treadwear indicators. (Also Conti tyres).
Wifes car - must be her driving style.
2 sets of tyres between each service? Bit scary.
Thought I was bad at 12k per set on my RR.

Our 2006 Golf GTi is barely halfway through it's front Conti's.

The 3.0TDi is probably a heavy lump, probably doesn't help with tyre wear.

Conti have offered to send out an inspector to check the tyre....

So I'll take them up on it.

See what they say (I know what they will say but I live in hope!)

Yes, it's just the nearside - off side isn't too bad has around 2000 left in it I suspect.

possibly roundabouts causing that then as its the tyre which gets loaded up - especially as its got a heavy derv lump over the front axle.

But if that was the case, ever cars nearside front would wear before the rest, irrespective of the weight of the engine.

yes Used to get this a lot when I lived in Basingstoke. Loads of roundabouts there, and when I was a tad younger, and a little heavier with the throttle whistle

they pretty much do, go and have a lokk at the outside shoulder of your n/s front wheel, i bet its more worn than the o/s - either that or you arent trying hard enough on roundabouts!!
