I've seen that some Skodas are now available with a 2.0 TDi 170PS Common Rail (CR) engine.

Can someone tell me the dates when the 2.0 TDi 170PS or 140PS Common Rail (CR) engine became, or will become, available in the Skoda Octavia, VW Golf, VW Passat, Audi A3, Audi A4, and Seat Leon ranges?

Thanks.

Octavia recently got the 170 CR, 140 will come with the facelift. Golf has neither, it wll get the 140 in the mk6. Passat has the 140 atm, 170 comming soon. A3 got both in the facelift. A4 has had the 140 from launch and 170 shortly after. Leon has neither afaik.

Thanks J400uk.

I don't suppose you know the exact launch month/year for the following...
VW Passat 140PS CR
Audi A3 140PS CR
Audi A4 140PS CR

Do you know how the Octavia will change with the facelift and when it will be?.

Thanks again.

Hi, sorry no I don't know the specific dates, they where all this year though.

The Octavia facelift was unveieled at the Paris Motor Show, which is on now. The car should come out sometime in 2009 I believe.

The one thing to note is that the CR engine like for like in the passat is less fuel efficient - but thats to be expected as the PD technology is the most thermally efficient of the two technologies such a shame that VW dropped it mind you they had to as its R&D for VW vs R&D for CR is funded by all the other car makers

Yeah thats what I thought, and posted on uk-mkivs. However comparing a old passat brouchure with a new one VW seem to think the CR engines are more economical :S

Thanks for the information. Sounds like a case of 'swings and roundabouts' when it comes to the difference between CR and PD engines.
