hi all

We bought a 52 plate A3 TDi about 2 weeks ago. After experiencing some weird electrical issues and rumbles from the engine bay, i got a garage to have a look yesterday. They reported 20 fault codes on the various electrical systems and the noise was decided to be the viscous pulley on the alternator, causing it to give out varying voltage and trip the sensors.

They've changed the pulley and cleared all the fault codes, it ran sweet for approx 100 miles, then i get the "brake" warning light and beep on the dash! Sigh. I have not got access to my cable to read the fault code yet, but i'm suspecting it's a return of the ABS/ESP fault code as follows:-

Address 03 -------------------------------------------------------
Controller: 1C0 907 379 M
Component: ESP FRONT MK60 0102
Coding: 0019458
Shop #: WSC 06435
2 Faults Found:
00668 - Supply Voltage Terminal 30
008 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent
00495 - ESP-Sensor Unit (G419): Supply Voltage
012 - Electrical Fault in Circuit - Intermittent

So, anyone any thoughts on what might throw this one? I'm only guessing it's the above code returned based on the fact all other codes where nowhere near the brakes!! When i get my cable back tomorrow i'll post the code.

Try changing the battery, it cured a load of unrelated issues on our A3.
