An Audi dealer has one up for 21k manual with 41000 miles am tempted by but according to wbac it is over priced by 7k!
WBAC won't sell you one for that price so that information isn't really relevant. Their online estimates are generally around CAP which a good S4 will sell well ahead of within the trade.

Last manual Avant I sold was in the Autumn, it was a nicely specified 2011 with 38k and went for 22k (selling as soon as it was advertised). Given good S4 prices have firmed slightly of late and that that is a very rare car I don't think they're being silly if the specification is good.

I understand your point but wbac only value the s4 at 1k more valuable than my car but the change over is between 5 and 6. I'm tempted to call and offer mine and 5 though

Replaced my rear right light cluster today (2010 B8 Avant). All seems OK, but I realised that when i press the rear fog light button now the button briefly lights up and then goes out (I assume it is meant to stay on like the front one does). I got someone to stand behind the car, and nothing comes on.

So, when i replaced the rear cluster, should I have taken a fog light out of the old cluster and put it into the new cluster. And that's why i don't know seem to have rear fogs?

But I can't see anywhere obvious the fog light would come out of the old cluster??

I am probably being really thick????? Any ideas?

^^^^ d'oh. The fog light is of course in the inner cluster, not the outer.

So I thought I would try it today, to see if the car gave me any error messages (fog light blown etc), but tried the rear fog light and it worked fine, the light lit up (and stayed on) inside the car (on the light controls), it worked when I got out the car to have a look, etc. so dunno what was going on yesterday (when the rear light wouldn't stay on).

So it's working (for now!).

And I'm pretty satisfied that I changed my own rear cluster, and it works!! biggrin

No idea what a dealer would have charged to supply/fit, but no doubt a lot more than it cost me to do. For a complete and utter technical numpty, I'm quite pleased with myself. (yes I know it is really easy, but still...)

Did you have the boot open when you were messing about with it? Pretty sure the internal lamps are automatically switched off when you open the boot smile

Very good point. Probably (though not 100% sure). Given I had the side flap open, my boot cover pulled out of the way, the box for the cluster, I probably did, so that would explain it. Thanks smile

Blimey, crap advert. And I am sure the only thing they have mentioned is wrong (the colour - not Quartz Grey).

This is Quartz Grey:

Without spec, difficult to comment and/or you know if it's right for you. B&O, sports diff, nav, cruise, comfort "stuff" (leccy seats, folding mirrors), depends what's important to you really. I'd give 'em a bell, as Spanish cars are quite rare.

Talking of comfort spec items, anyone know of anywhere (reputable!) that will retro-fit folding mirrors for less than the £1k that Hazzydayz want??

Spec pretty poor - no nav - only options I see are full leather (not supersport), 19s, front parking sensors

Anyone looking at the cheaper end of the S4 market should take a peek at the C6 A6 with the S4's engine. ZF box, so no S Tronic issues and rather stealthy . . . No agenda other than mine is looking for a new home to make way for a golf R estate. 🙄

Don't know but mine was in at the local Audi dealer yesterday for service/MOT and I asked them to look at the passenger side folding mirror which folds a tad too much - it just touches the side window when folded, meaning that if I lock (mirrors fold) with the side windows open and then hold the lock button to close the windows it scrapes against the glass as it closes.

Not a huge problem as it's not something I'm really going to do (especially knowing that it scrapes) but I was curious as to why it did this. They tell me that the 'stop' plate inside the mirror is slightly bent, allowing it to close more than it should, that the plate cannot be straightened (it may snap?), is not available as a part and the only solution is a complete replacement mirror at £1100.

So, I wonder how much Audi would want to retrofit folding mirrors?... scratchchin

just phoned up and yes the spec is a bit rubbish! no sat nav which i cannot believe wasn't standard on a £40k car. the search continues.

Apart from the very last 2015 cars ("S4 NAV") it was an option - part of Tech Pack.

Easy to tell from the photos, because cars with Nav have the MMI controls by the gearstick.

Rule with Audis: never assume anything is standard (a massive chunk of their money comes from the option list).

Do assume everything is expensive.

That'll steer you right!
