B8 S4 Ownership
Discussion
Currently run a bog-standard 2010 S4 with 19" rims and 255/35/19 tyres. Need to change tyres soon and wondered if anyone has put 245/40/19s on their car at all? I believe it will soften the ride a little which is what im aiming for - some of the roads I`m on at the moment are horrendous. They will be like for like Michelin PS3s if that helps. Thoughts on this...........

You'll get about a 3% change in gearing and 17mm increase in wheel diameter. The gearing is not significant (but beware speedo will under-read slightly), but you'd want to make very sure that the increased diameter isn't going to foul the bodywork. Wheel width drops a bit which should help. The other approach is to fit 245/40 on 18" rims. This was the 'standard' factory fit and I think rides very well.

I doubt just under 1cm of extra sidewall, which is about the difference it will make, will be even remotely noticeable.
It's a >10% difference. I think it would be noticeable. For a cheaper fix, try dropping the tyres pressure down about 10% below nominal and report back!
Came back to the car after it had been all day in an outside car park, and I could see it was completely steamed-up inside the car (all windows / windscreen etc). Not seen that before in the 3 years I've had it. Nothing obvious to cause it, no leaking water bottles or anything that would seem to give off moisture, no damp patches. Any ideas of anything that might cause it? Probably won't happen again now anyway!

Not an answer, but mine does the same. It seems to be when it’s been a warm-ish day and then the temperature drops sharply to around 4-5 degrees. I can’t find anything obvious in the car either!catso said:
Just remembered as I switched to it today; enable lap timer/oil temperature (operated via buttons on wiper stalk).
Thank you - got my local indie to change the start/stop and the fake engine noise as you suggested. I'll do these others next time. Thank you very much, your advice was really helpful. Adrian E said:
For left mirror it should be 8T0 857 527A 3Q7 and right is 8T0 857 528A 3Q7
I'm after a passenger side wing mirror casing for a 2010 S4. This one from ebay looks right https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-A8-D3-A4-B8-A5-NS-... , but:- it's got a "D" at the end, not an A (as Adrian said it should be). 8T0857527D, and;
- it says it's from a 2008 Audi A4 B8 Saloon 1800cc. But the description says fits S4.
Before I take a punt, does this look right for an S4. Anyone know what the "D" at the end of the part number means? Thanks.
No part code, as it's the whole unit, not just the housing, but this one looks right?

Afternoon all - any advice on ARBs?
I'm running a non-sports diff avant, want to make a it little pointier and reckon a thicker rear ARB would make a difference. Does anyone have any experience of the variety of kits? Eibach vs H&R vs KW vs the fully adjustable Eurocode USS thing you can buy in the US?

That looks like a painted finish to me too - I forgot to check current new price when I checked part number, but TPS should be able to do you one for reasonable money?https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-A4-S4-B8-2008-2015...

Are you sitting down?! £343 incl VAT RRP......
...so I'm not sure TPS will do it any cheaper (my usual indy quoted the same price),
TPS if you want genuine parts, or if you can wait for the Easter 'sale' discounts at Euro Car Parts you can probably pick up a set of Bosch or Brembo equiv for a lot less. Some of their brands I wouldn't want anywhere near my car, due to uncertainty over parts origin (ECP licence brand names to apply to their own products, the quality of which doesn't always match the reputation of the brand!)
