If you’re put off doing it yourself after looking at the a5oc thread, drop me a line. I’m not far away and done loads of updates for people (incl on my own S5)

Apologies in advance as I can see it's been discussed but can't find the original link...

I'm after the SatNav update details as Audi want 260 for the job. I have a 2015 car, Black Edition with the Bose.

Much appreciated if I can have the link :-)

Perhaps the owner of the 1st post on this thread can put a content page it will help with searching as so much good info here.

FYI - I'm approaching my 7th year, so far so good (bought new)
Its literally 5 posts above yours biggrin
What a dumbass - I went back the last 10 pages haha

I did mine 3-4 years ago, is it worth doing it again? Probably newer maps but I guess nothing extra from the MMI side?

Reminds me I need to order a new MMI button after my son pulled it off and lost it!

I'd need to look at my MMI to remind me of the last version - you probably do already have that, so yes most likely just a map update. These days the integrated nav is just a useful backup - I tend to use Waze more for the improved notifications of disruption and <cough> potential speed enforcement activity......

Maybe the A6 3.0 TFSI with Tiptronic is a safer engine/transmission option - giving the torque and tuneability of the supercharged S4 engine, with low tax, a lower risk gearbox and more interior/boot space.
I had one of these before my S4. Great car. I essentially bought it because it was a cheaper way to get the 3.0tfsi engine than an S4. I'm not sure it's the case any more.
Unfortunately it got written off when someone turned right across the road in front of me :-(

I find the S4 boot a little small for some of the things i need to carry and will be looking to an A6 avant or Allroad next.
Well, the time has come. I've just moved over to the dark side and bought an Allroad Biturbo.
So, my Manual S4 Avant, sprint blue with 19" Peelers is up for sale. Drop me a line if you think you might be interested.

Not interested in buying it but very interested in how you get on with the sale, what price, how much interest etc. What mileage does it have?

Looking to sell mine in 2 months time and then wait for my next car, but if my next car pops up then I'll buy that and then list the S4 ASAP. Still I'm waiting a bit as the market seems a bit shaky now and prices seem to be coming down (hopefully as Im trading up somewhat).

Have just put it up in the classifieds.
When I was buying, spec seemed to drive things. Went for a manual as so many horror stories about the mechatronic units. Is a manual worth more / more desirable because of this - or do most want the S-Tronic?
Lots of black / silver cars. Does a red / blue etch command more? Always wanted 19" peelers and it's a bonus that mine had them saving me having to buy some.
Bizarrely I bought a car that wasn't advertised anywhere from this very thread. Very nice pistonheader called easternlight iirc.

Cool, found it.

Keep me posted with the interest you have please (either here or via PM if you prefer). Looks a nice example.

Mines a black saloon, sports seats, 19" wheels (spoke ones not peelers), manual, B&O, 3G nav etc, good FSH with 14 stamps, 106k miles. I was struggling to find a price as there wasn't much to compare and I never know what things actually sell for right now (vs what they are listed for).

Best bet is stick the details into WBAC and Motorway and see what the dealers bid. I always think WBAC plus about 10-15% is a reasonable indicator of private sale value. My S5 comes up about £10k on WBAC so about £12k should be achievable privately

WBAC was £5k! I'd imagine its worth 8-9k as there are barely any clean examples under 10k it seems.

That’s odd - mine’s a 2011 S5 Sportback with 80k and FSH every year. WBAC would give £10,200+. Maybe the S5 being that bit rarer makes a difference?

Have been following this thread with interest. My current daily, a manual C5 A6 2.7T (aka a B5 S4 in an A6 shell) is getting long in the tooth (233k miles, 140k which are mine), and am getting significant pressure from the OH to replace it.

Not much out there in manual that does what it does, realistically newer S6 (all auto though), or for manual, a 3.0 V6T S4.
I think I found yours (the blue on on AT and PH classifieds on 111k), and if I go for an S4, would probably be what I'm looking for.

My primary concern is probably purely around ergonmics and practicality of moving from a C5 A6 to a B8 A4/S4, aka how much smaller inside is it/is the boot?

I'm expecting fuel econ to be similar (I've averaged 26-28mpg on my 2.7T over the last 140k miles)

Searider- Busy with stuff over the next week or so, but would otherwise be asking if I could come and have a look, as I'm not that far away (N.Hants)

A manual A6 2.7T. Now there’s a unicorn!
Looked for one of those a long time ago and went B5 S4 as i couldn’t find one.
Prior to the current S4 I had a C6 A6 Avant 3.0tfsi - great car but if you want a manual it’s out as auto only. I need more boot space now as my sons sailing dinghy dagger board is fractionally too big to go in and we’ve just got a dog.
If you’re “normal” the boot is fine.
Quite fancy a C7 S6 but out of budget at the moment.

Long term fuel consumption is 27mpg.
It initially feels slower than the 2.7T as it needs rpm to drive the supercharger. However, where the 2.7t drops off the S/C is getting going. It’s much more like a larger N/A engine.

Happy for you to pop down for a look and a drive any time. Just message me through PH or AT. It is the blue one you’ve found.

Much appreciated! Re unicorns.. my mechanic described me as "probably the last person running one of these", according to how many left there are 35 on the road when I last checked.
It is a cracking car though.. and entirely down to the engine..

Thanks for the offer. Once stuff out the way will message, though hopefully from your POV it will be sold by then.

About 10 days.
Two enquiries from PH and one from AT.
Two viewings and both wanted it.
