B8 S4 Ownership

2. I have the black edition and I guess mine are not shiny as I have not noticed the same problem (I cannot confirm as the car is 35miles away at the moment).
3. As above, I had to move my steering wheel to see the whole dash.
5. My 2014 8.5 has only the three as well. My Subaru only had hi/lo/none which was nore than enough.
7. I thought the 8.5 paddles were a bit small, but i can live with it. I have seen stick on Carbon extensions though.

5. Interesting, only 3 on mine.
6. Comfort mode and cruise control seems to get very close!
7. The B8.5 paddles are larger than the B8 paddles, and the 2015 year paddles are bigger still, apparently; might be worth looking at a retro fit?
Thanks - I have cruise control so will give that a go and see if I can find a sweet spot for mpg on the motorway.6. Comfort mode and cruise control seems to get very close!

That's good to know that the paddles are getting bigger so a retrofit may be the way to go along with a new style shifter.
I'm 5'11" and I've adjusted the steering wheel as low as I need it. It's not the steering wheel that gets in the way of viewing the complete display but the actual dash cluster lower edge which is obviously fixed.
I like to sit low as opposed to perched on top😉

Sit on a cushion? Seriously, just try raising the seat a tad until you can see the instruments fully. You'll be able to see the road ahead better as well. A low C of G is br all use if you can't see the apex to hit it...

I did a bit of digging on audizine.1. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$*
2. B8.5 is a no-no, you may be ok with a B8; the R8 paddles apparently fit nicely.
- (about $700 if you're lucky).

You're probably right there - will raise the seat a tad and see how it feels.Seriously, just try raising the seat a tad until you can see the instruments fully. You'll be able to see the road ahead better as well. A low C of G is br all use if you can't see the apex to hit it...
They also report varying results with the stick on ones (though someone did make a replacement pair of alloy ones - which were cheaper, but still ~$200 iirc), mostly saying that they're crap.
There is however a good guide to replacing the god-awful S-tronic handle with the face-lift gearknob.

Hi.
Looking to upgrade the lighting on the B8 S4 Avant;
All Interior Lighting to LED, Number Plate Lamps swap to LED Festoon (error free), H11 Front Fog Lamps LED?
Any advise on what you may have purchased with links would be appreciated - prefer UK supply but others if you've not had any issues.
I've got an interior trim removal kit on order to swap out the interior lights once I get a hold of them.
Cheers in advance!

Hi all,
Thought I'd drop in and say hello. Very recently joined the B8.5 S4 fold having been lurking on this thread a short while. Driven the sum total of 100 miles since picking it up and really liking it. Quick pic attached. Switched out from a 335is. Went from DCT to manual (or stick as they like to say here) - so much more enjoyable.
Cheers

I think you will find its more down to our dreaded emissions rules re RFL and to a lesser extent BIK. The emissions tests for manual cars are tested in specific gears whilst an auto can be in whatever gear it selects, thats why the car trys to get into 7th at the earliest opportunity in efficiency mode. I suspect a manual would be a good 20gm CO2 worse off or more.
