Very nice indeed. Great colour combo on the Tam.
thanks I like it....started to take off the dash today, to swap out what so far is the only fault i can find (other than the tired speed 6) is an erratic mirror switch mechanism....to be met with a mass of "electronicery" on the back of the switches and instrumentation.....looks a bit like a kids electronics class has had had a field day....
god help me if that side of things goes wrong......I can do "normal" wiring, but all this PCB and resistor stuff will have me stumped.....

LS Tamora with tr6060 would be perfect
6060 is a tight fit in my griff. I'm not sure the t chassis (or where the body may force the engine and therefore gearbox) to fit would make a 6060 a non starter..... a stock tko is fine, and allows more exhaust room.tko would need a diff swap to 3.07. 6060 would use a 3.42.....i think a tam is 3.7?
....but still thinking about what would be more fun.
i did fix the mirrors i hope, fiddling with all the connections has left me with working mirrors.....dont know if its permanent or temporary though...

Steve, if Ros is accepting of your new toy and your twin TVR garage, presumably you've retiled the kitchen floor and completed the other household jobs that had been consigned to the back-burner whilst completing the Griff?
since finishing the griff ....kitchen floor tiling done
hall floor tiling done
bathroom remodelled
rear garden turfed
driveway laid (20 tonnes by hand 'kin hell that was hard work)
hallway redecorated
patio laid
think i've done enough to earn some "toy time"?

Ant
I kinda like the way most is put together, though some elements are soooo TVR
Interesting to have both in the garage and see what has evolved, and what still has that element of backyard engineering.....
Such as .....
the boot orifice being too small for the roof
The bonnet hinges not opening enough
The door glass rattling when the windows are down
Definitely a few tweeks in the pipeline to overcome some of the TVR "Mis-engineering"
One thing I haven't concluded is the fogs
Fronts work
Rear works
But you can't have them on at the same time.....turning the rears on switches off the fronts.....

The boot/hood section is a matter of knack like the Griff. Chimp owners would struggle....I kinda like the way most is put together, though some elements are soooo TVR

I have modded the bootlid bracket to allow the lid to open more.
Front fogs?????? My lower lamps are main beam !! I only have rear fogs, although I believe (reading the Sag bible) that the wiring is in place for front fogs.

Steve, the roof goes in easily, even in its cover. Hold it fabric facing forwards lower the left corner in first, tuck it nicely into the left side if the boot floor and the right side drops in, simple. The bonnet hinges not opening enough
Don't forget the bonnet simply unclips and you can easily lift it right off for access.

Where do you get the energy? Do you ever have pub time?
Look forward to catching up at The Growl.
David.
engines out...definately see where the speed 6 cats exhaust runs near the chassis, and has burnt off the powdercoat, but apart from that, all is well
loom for LS is done, opted to use emerald this time
probably will just post the tam project in the tam section of the forum if anyone is interested....

steering pumps
i've currently fitted an astra steering pump to the griff with the scooby rack.
it works fine. The astra pump provides fluid flow when it senses that fluid is needed, so you have very little assistance unless moving the wheel a lot. n the road this feels ok, but you do have a feeling of heaviness on the wheel at dead centre, when there is no fluid assistance. This might not be the case with smaller tyres, but my 235/40/17 without PAS do need some persuasion to turn...... (hence fitting Pas)
I wanted to try a continuous flow pump, so see if i liked that "feel"......so opted to fit a saxo style pump which was lashed in situ at growl.
after a couple hundred miles, decided i prefer the feel of this, slightly lighter around dead centre without becoming overly assisted, so will probably keep that in favour of the astra unit.
