Last week, I replaced the old starter motor on my Griffith 500 with an up-rated 2kW version from London Essex Autoelectrics.

To be honest, I found them on eBay and paid £104.95 (inc. courier delivery).

The starter motor was delivered within 24 hours and is a better quality, higher power motor that spins the engine up really quickly.

I very seldom make a product recommendation, but make an exception in this case, as both the product and service were excellent. soapbox

Its great to hear recommendations, otherwise the forums are just full of tales of woe and give a lopsided view of ownership to anyone looking in.

Have you got a part number or reference of some kind Toffer and I'll stick it in the Parts List

I have the very same brilliant starter. Spins my 500 engine like a Dervish even when engine is fan hot. It's a 3 kw not the standard TVR 2 kW. No markings or part numbers on mine . Call it London and Essex Autoelectrics.

Nice to hear from you Chris. Hope to see you at Shuttleworth or Millbrook this July. My 500 is in better shape than me at the moment but hope to make it. Regards also to Roel.
