Secondly - I would like to apologise to steve-p for "slipping through our net" - sorry Steve!
I'll let you off, this time! I was a bit disappointed because I would rather you had taken the car. Then I know it would probably have gone to a good home. It still might though, it's ended up here actually. It's still registered K666TVR so it will be interesting to see if it turns up again on this forum.

I am Adrian Blyths "Rodney" (you plonker!).

whilst others have just been too much money - preventing us in turn offering a sensibly priced car.
yep agree, my heart couldn't take the depreciation.....

He really is a nice man!
totally agree, I have a fantastic griff that I have been 100% happy with...
so why the angry post... can't see Adrian getting anything other than a good showing here... even rec. him to the chap looking for a griff on here on the phone earlier today...
So erm, thanks for that Rodney.....
Perhaps apprentice/rodney is working too hard - I like Steve called and spoke to you offering my Griff 400 (not the mighty 500 I know) to AB to see what sort of price he would offer me - the car that I bought from him about 2-years ago - and not even a return phone call to tell me where to go.....!
Perhaps AB is alas becoming too much like a real car dealer rather than a TVR enthusiast....?

How many communication errors have there been in the history of the world because some one left a message on a machine and assumed that would be enough?
I learnt this lesson years ago. If you want a reply, then speak to the person yourself. And if you do leave a message and you don't get what you want, keep trying until you do speak in person. Otherwise, in the end, its you who loses out.
Here endeth the lesson.

Many thanks for the lesson in communication skills - but if you read my post you will see it says that I did indeed speak to 'Rodney' and NOT a machine
The lesson is perhaps more don't talk to the monkey when who you need is the organ grinder.....painful...
Sorry, my reply was directed at the emailer not you, the caller. I should have been clearer. And it is not a critisism at all - we all do it. I'm as guilty as most at leaving ultimate delivery to someone/something else, like when I assumed that the Post Office would deliver my completed tax return to Revenue but they decided to keep it themselves and I was fined for late submission. And again when I assumed that Saab would read their general info request email address as I wanted to buy a new car, but they didn't even reply. Who lost out both times? Me.
Also, I've met Apprentice and I wouldn't describe him as an organ grinder's monkey (assuming that's what you meant).
No offence intended.

In that case you wasted your time on that score as well, because I emailed lengthy details of the car for clarity, but spoke to the assistant on the phone shortly afterwards.
Then what a shame you didn't explain the full story in your original post. Telepathy wasn't on the curriculum when I was at school

You presumably got an A in jumping to conclusions though
LOL. Very good.
BTW, how about some honest comparisons of TVR ownership versus Porsche. Mere mention of the P word here usually brings out the worst in TVR owners but I'm really interested to know what you think Steve.

Yes I will do at some point once I have had the car for a while. It's early days yet, but have to say I am really enjoying it. It is entirely docile and benign around town or in traffic, which we all have to deal with after all. The driving position is excellent and the seat very comfortable on long journeys. That takes care of the daily driver element. Driving for fun on the open road, it is really quick and feels like it is on rails, even on bumpy and/or wet roads. The steering weight is just right and the chassis composure makes it easy to place it with precision. It is a relatively rare car round here too which is a bonus. As an only car, it takes some beating.
