Yes, you will have much less trouble fitting the LR pump. There is very little room on a Griff to fit an electric pump due to the sloping radiator and central expansion pot. Also, the bonnet roller crossbar limits the height of any pump you may choose.

I gave up in the end and went LR...the pulley etc. is there, why not use it?

this may be a silly question, but why use a different PAS pump and not the std Rangie P38 pump which regularly come up on fleabay?
Good point but mine is a pre cat and so my swirl pot and coolant routing takes up this position.

I thought the point of using the Astra (or possibly Vectra) pump was that it had a pressure sensor that only operated the pump when it is required ie. below a certain speed.

I drove both the PAS and non-PAS Griffs before I bought the Green Meanie and found the PAS Griff very light at speed. Does the P38 pump have this pressure sensor or am I missing the point? Pete

Hi,
I understand the factory rack is a fiesta with a re-engineered steering rack connection. If this is true you might be able to get an engineer to make up the piece you need.
Good luck

I use a Saxo power steering pump which is smaller and tucks away in the corner of a Chimaera engine bay.

The advantage of an electric pump is that it simplifies the front of the engine, creating more room and probably nothing more then an aesthetic appearance.

If you are still fitting the electric pump on a griffith and your struggling for space. Then rip out the carbon canister and fit the electric Ps pump in the inner wing. Which is right next to the rack. You can get access via the panel behind the washer bottle...
